Does anyone use Amazon.com (or Amazon.co.uk) to order books etc., for delivery at a mailing address in LOS?
If so, what are the pro's and cons.?
Cheers!
I use amazon used books for all my textbooks, and a lot of my Thai friends use it for books. Immediate pro would be insurance on your purchases, Immediate con would be shipping...

Aren't there any websites where you can just download books? I get a fair few comics from Soulseek (V for, The Watchmen etc.).
Riddle me this brother can you handle it

wiley has a fair selection of ebooks (academic).
You can download them - but you do have to pay for them
I think amazon has some ebooks as well.

I used Amazon to buy some hefty-sized computer books, but used Amazon US and they were FAR cheaper than the rip-off book prices from Amazon in the UK. And the shipping was far cheaper too.
We would rather be ruined than changed
We would rather die in our dread
Than climb the Cross of the moment
And see our illusions die
I di exactly the same thing when I was living in the UK - it was still cheaper to order them from amazon.com and have them shipped from the States. (and books like Dan Applemans guide to the win32 API are not light)Originally Posted by Mister Fixit
