I've my own battered and bent copy and even now it's useful.
Might be worth trying Scribd to see if there is a downloaded copy of the book there.
I don't have the time nor the inclination to upload my copy to Scribd, sorry.
Yoda.
Just searched Scribd under Languages .There are 792 entries and it is possible the book ''Essential Thai'' is there but I am not going through the whole list .
Have a browse and you may find what you want.
Good luck.

Jim is in the process of reprinting Essential Thai. I cannot post links, so google 'James Higbie’s Essential Thai is Back!'
(perhaps someone can add the url here)

I had a copy and it is a good learning book. It was much photocopied and when I left Thailand I gave it to one of the Thai teachers at my school.Essential Thai will be available late in 2010 or early in 2011.
Chris Frape, Publisher of Orchid Press, has announced that the Bangkok-based company will reissue Essential Thai, a popular beginning level Thai language book that has been out of print since the demise of the book division of Post Publishing almost ten years ago.
The book will be reissued in its original A4 format and will include standard sized CDs for pronunciation.
We could all sit outside on banana lounges discussing the best way to rebuild a 4WD transmission and agree, through shared stories of conquests supporting our assertions, that there is no basis to the proposition that those least assured of their persuasions are the first to condemn others for theirs.
I'm willing to make a hard-copy of the book and mail it if fees are covered ( I have paypal). My copy of the book was about 200 baht... not sure how much shipping would be
