There aren't too many of these but I watched one last night. "Hi - fidelity" with John Cusack. I had read the book a few years ago and the ending had annoyed me. I found it trite and contrived but in the movie which I enjoyed I felt the story flowed much better. What makes this more impressive is the fact that I am a Brit talking about the Americanization of a British Book.

Exactly my thoughts BOF. Jack Black et al really bring it to life.

I really enjoyed the book, but I loved the film too. Same same but different.Originally Posted by Just another BOF
A similar case for me is Breakfast At Tiffany's. Loved the book and loved the film, even though the two are completely different in tone.
