Was really enjoying the first 3 chapters, the fluid writing style until chapter 4 when it becomes apparent the writer is yet again just a naive sex tourist. will anyone evver write abook about thailand where they came, enjoyed the culture and actually made a difference to someones life. I guess sex sells.

Oh bloody hell no noooo....it's Triceps/D Bruno Starrs ridiculous effort again.

This guy used to be an Ajarn regular years ago, and supposedly got sacked from Rajabottoms for chucking a spoon at the head of English, and going in to collect his pay with a machete....so the legend goes..

Here's the thread from the last time this character popped up on here...the older legendary Triceps posts are long lost, but here he's multi nicking as Ajarn 'arry, Candy, and D Bruno Starrs

http://www.ajarnforum.net/vb/practic...-thailand.html (I WOKE UP FEELING THAILAND)

"A remarkable new talent. Starrs' hilarious parody of Westerners adrift in small town Thailand is destined to become a backpacker's favourite. It is by turns; funny, heartbreaking and sad." - Barry Scott, author of "Love and Wigs: Poems of Bangkok, Bollywood and Beyond".

"Part travelogue, part horror fiction is this work set in the bowels of that beautiful country of Thailand. It's a gritty story that peels back the layers of this culture and the depths to which the impoverished go to survive. It's not far-fetched but gruelling." - Wendy O'Hanlon, Australian Provincial Newspapers.
...with endorsements like those who wouldn't rush out and buy it....

LDMA - Oh, yes. I too remember this rubbish from a couple of years ago. Really, really, embarrassing, juvenile shit.

Must revisit it - toes need curling.

It was the Marko-era spoon throwing incident that will always be indelibly in my mind where Triceps is concerned.
