Dasa book cafe, the best second hand book store, he even has a book database on his website, you can download as excel format.

Yes, I would agree that Kinokunya is the best. I just wish they had a name that was easier to remember.
The worst job in Thailand must be the man who has to sit down with a blue marker pen and mark a number two on the two-baht coins to stop people thinking they are one-baht coins.
Chula Bookstore in Siam is quite good as well. Especially for academic books.
That is my least favourite. I like the one just up from Villa, I think it is called 'Elite' although the proprietor is a bit of a grump. Also the one one the other side of the road in a small soi off the side entrance to Emporium. Although a bit of a mess, they have an enormous number of books.
God I haven't been in there for ages but I always remember the owner sitting at his desk at the end of the shop, marking prices on books and peering over his glasses whenever somebody coughed. I often walk past the shop but I'm always put off by the 'window display'. It seems to feature nothing but back issues of Time magazine, weighty tomes on weapons and warfare, and Japanese Schoolgirl Knickers Monthly.
get those on my monthly visit
theres a cettain something about 2nd hand book stores that is just ace and makes me very competetive
Dasa is just as user friendly and the owner as welcoming as the gimp at elite
necessary evils my friends
we dont go there for their winning personalities
surely the point of owning the place is so you can sit in peace and read all day
Serial Wolf Bagger
I went to the one you are talking about Phil, so often that I actually got a few smiles from the owner and in my Indian authors phase, he used to keep any that came in under the desk for me.
^That should do it!![]()
you can find novels anywhere, but if academic books youre looking for, use bit torrents or amazon.com. bangkok's selection of academic books in english, especially teaching books, resembles the state of its education. its not a coincidence.
Go to Siam Parigon 3rd floor,they have a good book store with most of their titles in English and they also have Chinese, Japanese and Thai as well.
They have many benches inside so you can find a book, check it out, read most of it, have some coffee, and take the day off there.
If you do want to order a book, it will take them at least 3 months to order it.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;
Most Gracious, Most Merciful;
Master of the Day of Judgment.
Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek.
Show us the straight way,
The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.
