Thread: Teaching Books and Materials: Shops in BKK and other places.

Sorry if this is an old thread........

I am coming back to BKK within a few weeks, and will be looking for a job...which may well be private work or non-mainstream.

I have a lot of my own materials, but I don't want to heave all my English File, Headway (love them or loathe them!) books etc onto the plane in addition to my own stuff

Can anybody give me address or location of TEFL book shops in BKK Changers and Phuket? Is there one which has a decent range, including Business English stuff?

Are TEFL books expensive

TEFL course-books aren't expensive. They're around a quarter of the price in the UK or US, depending on the title.

There are shops which carry some stuff in CM ("Suriwongse", SE of the old city last I checked had 'em) and HKT ("The Books" in Phuket Town), but you'd do better hitting one of the Language and Media Book Centres in BKK. The stock on hand is much better, and the books all come through there anyway.

It is a bookstore north of the World Trade Center, near the train tracks.


Not the easiest to find...but you will find it.
