Arrived in Bangkok and delighted to be here I am.
Does anyone have copies of the following to sell on: Learning Teaching, Scrivener J. (MacMillan); The Practice of English Language Teaching, Harmer J. (Longman)?
Chula books are out of stock and when I was looking for DK I was directed to a massive DKNY poster in front of the Discovery Centre and then to a hairdressers of the same name. Gawd knows I need it....
Starting the CELTA soon and impatient to get my hands on these two. Please let me know if you can sell them on to me.
DK Books is here, among other places:
D.K. Today Co.,Ltd. -- บริษัท ดวงกมลสมัย จำกัด -- Your BEST source for English Language Teaching books. - Map
I'll give YOU money if they're out of stock of either book.
Easy to get to, just north of the Indra Hotel, on a dead-end soi next to the
airport train tracks. Has everything you could possibly need.
Or, if you want to buy both books off me at slightly inflated prices or at cover price + beer,
just let me know.

"If you're not interested in changing where you work (and thus the student population, obviously) then a) your success at applying various and sundry teaching techniques is unlikely to have anything to do with how effective they are in general, and b) your sweeping generalizations about Thai students serve no purpose but to fuel your inertia and your feeling of being an 'insider'. Sadly (for you) few who read your sweeping generalizations will perceive it that way, but hey if it makes you feel good, knock yourself out." -zeusdogg
What an angel! You'd better make sure you're up for a beer mid-week, though, just in case. If not just PM me your number. Eternally grateful.
^^ pm'd you
