Hey a completely weird question, does Phuket have any places where I could just plan some piano? Like hotels with a piano in the lobby, or music shops, or jam bars?(like in japan)--
I somehow doubt it, but I love playing piano it's one thing I miss when I'm away from home
I think I read somewhere there's not much of a music scene, or is there? I hope so
Sorry for the odd, possibly retarded question!
not retarded at all...why not give some hotels a ring.
i used to know a teacher who made a very tidy packet on the side by playing piano in a lobby bar. free meals and acoomodation too!
"so please show no pity as we come up from the ground, and please remember as you kill us and cut us down that time will not wash clean the bloody face of history, and someone will breathe here again and they will hate you for what you leave." m.g.
When I was in China I would go to some fancy restaurant and play a couple songs on the piano there just for kicksOriginally Posted by Well
But i'm not good enough to do it as a gig, the only stuff I play I wrote myself(pretty amateur-like, but sounds nice)
It's just always relaxing and comforting to play music
must be some 'jam' bars in phuket, no?
nat might be good to ask...
couldn't agree more mate. and it's always compelling, for me at least, to listen to and watch someone enjoying playing...Originally Posted by Dalacin
good luck!
When I lived at Le Meridian in Phuket, there was a piano in there lounge. There is also a really nice piano at a restaurant call Baan Rim Pa (which is just north of Patong Beach), that you could probably convince someone to let you "jam" on.Originally Posted by Dalacin
The owner is a real nice guy (Tom) and they used to hire a guy from my hotel to play there.

"We're all very different people. We're not Watusi, we're not Spartans, we're Americans. With a capital "A", huh? And you know what that means? Do you? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We're the underdog. We're mutts."
