Any jobs possibly available at language institutes, private schools, government schools, universities, etc., from February through April?
I would be interested in jobs within the Bangkok metropolitan area only.
I'm an American, have a BA in Education, and three separate state teaching licenses.
Thank you.
Thank you for your prompt reply.
Either short-term or long term hiring would be acceptable.
Do language institutes hire during February-April?
Do any private schools hire at that time?
Again, short-term work, during that time span, is acceptable.
Lastly, I am assuming that no government schools or universities hire
during February-April.
Am I correct?
Thanking you in advance........
When IS the best time to arrive in Thailand with regard to getting a teaching job? It seems some of the schools run from May to October and then have a break, and then from maybe Nov. to April. But others follow a more traditional western academic calendar. We're mostly interested in teaching high school or college or adults (that's where our experience lies), but will settle for teaching kids if can't find anything else.
No. March to May is the busiest time of year in Thailand for hiring teachers. For all kinds of institutes.
---Update---
In terms of job vacancies on the ajarn jobs page in 2011, March was the best month of the year, followed by May and June. December and January were the worst.
Thank you for that info! If one is relocating to Thailand with $2,000 and will be out of work for two months top will that be enough?
roughly 60k baht
so....try and rent a cheap apartment for about 5-10k a month and you'll be fine
unless you have a weakness for soapy massage hijinks 4 times a week...
I'm everywhere you've never been and better than I've ever been
numbers added for clarity in the answer...
As pretty much answered in posts above:
<1> Some, but not many. It is the "summer break" and Songkran is in there as well.
<2> By private schools do you mean private K-12 or something else? K-12 schools = no, not usually hiring. See <1>.
<3> No, see <1>.
Busiest time for hiring will be from late March to early May.
