Ryan, welcome to the forum and good luck.

    ---Update---

Max, get the chip off your shoulder. The others are right. Ttompatz was being straight with you and laying it out like it is. Without a degree you will be stuck being illegal because the government requires one and that will stick you in less than "reputable" schools working for chicken feed. I am still a newbie and even I know that much. Also, quit living up / continuing to the a-hole yank immage and chill out or you'll never make in Thai.

well said! along with good points. n good advice seems to me... also here correct spelling/or grammar maybe isn't 100% important (hopefully),but elsewhere it is. its a rookie/newbie forum.. there's a lot to know n a lot to learn to understand. good attitude would be better... just chill max,it's not

    Why hope, lad? Hopefully?

It is 100% important. If you were ever told, or taught, otherwise, then claim your Mummy and Daddy's money back. You won't earn it back.
"Take this, brother; may it serve you well."

In regard to anna key reply,
"It is 100% important. If you were ever told, or taught, otherwise, then claim your Mummy and Daddy's money back. You won't earn it back"
---i was merely referring to 'THIS' forum about the "maybe isn't 100% important (hopefully)" part---
sadly, mummy (died very young) and daddy are gone. so there's no money to get back even if that was a possibility...

There are few problems in life that cannot be solved with toast.

One of them, however, is opening a can of corned beef with that stupid key. This cannot easily be done at the best of times, and toast is of surprisingly little use in resolving the issue.

well against all the other advise i got here... i went got my tefl(still no degree, though i did know that it would make it easer but i wasn't in a position to get one in such short notice). i am currently employed and the students love me. i have graduated 3 classes. i get paid over 40000 baht a month(against what i was told i would make or what i had expected). i have been on a thai tv show called "100 baht challenge"(was so much fun, made friends with the director). i will go to try to do some voice acting next. i have other offers to teach if i so choose to take them.so thanks for all the advise but it seems listening to my heart took me a lot further. i'm not unrealistic but i do like to follow my dreams and like to say"fuck the nay sayers" i realized the short comings i would face coming with out a degree. was just looking for better advise on how to go about doing it short of having one.and having the thai wife for 9years now, so the visa thing i kinda get around by other means love the above gif above my post btw must be montipython lol what an idiot i am to point out i have a wife or in less it was for a reason like because of the visa issue

so in summation.. happy ending great travels.love my life my pay is great. meeting nicest people and it would have been the biggest mistake ever if i had have played it safe and not came.
So cheers to following your dreams. Everything worked out so great for me. sooo happy I"gave it a whirl" 555

    Reality check.
Non-b and work permit = unlikely.
    12 month contracts = unlikely.
If your wife is a Thai citizen then maybe (get a non-o visa).
If your post is indicative of your general English skills then make sure you run a spell/grammar check over your resume/cover letter.
Yet here i am and every thing worked out great..how ever "unlikely" you thought it would.
Although you were being a little more of an a-hole than i would have liked..(just your personality,im sure you don't try to be a dick) i appreciate the the straight forwardness could have done without the snide comments at the end of em though. but i do appreciate frankness though
    cheers
