hello, was wondering if having completed a TESOL training course, not online, is enough to gain employment without any work experience. has anyone gotten hired without teaching experience?
thanks!!

Así pues, aquí estamos.
Don't tell me you've never even tossed newspapers, dug ditches, picked up trash, flipped burgers, bagged groceries, waited tables, made frappuccinos, etc. for money before! You don't have any work experience? How do you know you are even cut out for teaching if you've never worked before? Hopefully you have a lot of education to make up for the lack of work experience.
Yes, I got my first teaching job without having taught before.

No work experience or no teaching experience?
If you have a degree to go with that shiny new TEFL cert then there won't be any problem getting a job even without experience (beyond the 6 hour practicum that you had on your course).
If you don't have a degree to go with it then stay home. Your chances of legal work are effectively "0". (there are always chances for illegal work but there are also risks associated with it).

of course i have work experience, i'm asking about teaching experience..
i got hired without any teaching experience. experience is somwhat over rate anyways. teaching, what a breeze. i say go for it Planeman apply for everything and hold your head high when you tell them experience, i don't need stinking experience for i have a TESOL qualification that is far superior to the online variety
may the force be with you

Guess you missed the "other part" of the reply... (some people have problems reading past the 1st line).

ttompatz, I've seen your replies to other posts around here, and I don't think I'll follow any of your somewhat jaded advice on matters concerning me. I don't have a problem reading anything, seems you have issues though!
