So, I found out this morning that I have a job in Thailand starting the first week of September! Super excited...not quite sunk in yet...need a heads up on what I need to start planning and arranging and sorting?
Thanks!

We don't know enough about you to know what you'd need. As far as material items, here are some things I brought and later regretted:
1. clothes
2. dictionary
3. toiletries
4. CD movies
Some stuff I wish I'd brought:
1. family pictures
2. shoes, Thais have monkey feet, their shoes or for Thais
3. teaching resources
4. gifts from my country
Yes...Im well aware everything...
I was hoping there may be advice here as to where I should bank, information about Visas, appropriate places to live (in both Pattaya and Bangkok), appropriate work wear, and things I may need. (massive thanks for the resources headsup!).
I applied for a job over the TES website. I am a qualified special educational needs teacher, and the position is a teaching job in an SEN school. They have a site in Bangkok and one in Pattaya, they havent decided which site I will be at yet, but will find out next week. I had the interview over skype yesterday. Im from Nottingham in England, and funnily enough the woman who interviewed me is also from Nottingham!
Any advice, or support would be great.
thankyouAmelia x
monkey feet? really? is that really necessary?
I've never had any trouble with getting shoes in Thailand. Larger sizes, esp. women's, are difficult to find.

that would be anywhere outside Pattaya...pray that you don't get Pattaya.
