I'm bored at work due to a student canceling a class this evening so I thought I'd join up to kill some time.

I'm an American and have been working here for about 7 years.

God, looking at my posts, I've made a mess.

Here is what I am trying to say.

Been in country for over a decade. I moved from Ban Pra Put outside of Korat to BKK to get some work as I pissed away the vast majority of my savings/retirement doing the sick buffalo savior thing. Bangkok is ok, except when the streets flood and the city smells like God made a bowel movement.

Property..them 99 year leases ain't what you think they are, though wine and women led me to the door of that bit of experience.

I wouldn't say jaded, I can only look back and laugh at my own naivety and stupidity. More "aware" would be my description. Since then though, I've met some really nice folk that don't go fishing for every buck they can.

Thanks buddy, but I'm happy with my lovely Thai gf and living in America now. I'm actually hoping to marry her next year after she finishes the au pair program.
