Re: ESL Web Sites and Links
One great website which has so many links and especially his blog where he outlines all the top sites for ESL is Larry Ferlazzo's
I can't post links, urls. So just google Larry. He's award winning, a whirlwind and driving force for fostering open source education and not protectionism/commodity driven education.

Re: ESL Web Sites and Links
primaryresources.co.uk is a great resources for me because it is written for primary kids in England. Sometimes I think I must have missed something because a lot of the EFL sites I see seem far to difficult for the level of 99.9% of the people I've met. Either I've met the wrong people in 2 years or 90% of people here are teaching incredibly bright students.

Re: ESL Web Sites and Links
These " Grammar Rock" videos are totally kick-ass.
Plus I just love imagining those stoned 70's session musicians
laying down these tracks . I'm showing these during
intro grammar lessons. The kids love them.

Re: ESL Web Sites and Links
Good call M! I'm trying to teach the basics without boring my kids to death myself right now and these are perfect. Of course, they also take me back to my days as a primary student in the US, Schoolhouse Rock is a classic!
I've found the 30th Anniversary DVDs containing all of the Schoolhouse Rock videos at Demonoid but, they are being harassed by the Canadian equivalent of the MPAA / RIAA, and are down right now. Hopefully they'll be back soon as has been the case in the past.
For now, I'm downloading the 9 Grammar Rock videos from ISO Hunt, they also have the Math videos there. I really want the DVDs for the subtitles though, if Demonoid doesn't come back I might try my first Amazon purchase from Thailand, only $25 US including shipping.

Re: ESL Web Sites and Links
^^Grammar rock videos are really great!
For those teaching primary grades, this website has reading activities, and phonemic awareness activities, for learning how to read. The site has online books for beginning readers, as well as, comics, and plays. It also has tongue twisters with great graphics, songs, and lyrics.
Learn to Read at Starfall - teaching comprehension and phonics
This website has the 'Scary Skeleton' song. It includes the song, lyrics, and print out of your own skeleton. You can use the song to teach body parts. You can also use at Halloween. If you print out the skeleton template, you can play many games with it, or have them paste it together. The site also has flashcards, writing activities, many other songs for different levels. Awesome resource for ESL.

Re: ESL Web Sites and Links
I just found this site. Don't know if it's been posted before. Anyway, you've heard of YouTube and PornTube . . . well, there's also TeacherTube! Hundreds of downloadable videos on all subjects! TeacherTube - Teach the World | Teacher Videos | Lesson Plan Videos | Student Video Lessons | Online Teacher Made Videos | TeacherTube.com I used a few biology vids to teach my M-1s all about mitosis. Worked great!

I'm pretty sure I've got a few more links lurking in my Favourites folder. I'll dig them out.
