Where to get text books for distance / online learning.

I'm enrolled in a couple of distance learning classes back in the US at a uni in Washington State. I'm knocking out about 30 credit hours of prerequisites that will assure me acceptance in whatever program of study I choose to enter with no hassle.

Anyways, this post is about getting text books here in Bangkok that I need for my classes. Where do you get your books? I've been down to Chula Books, they have 2 of the 5 that I need this quarter and they say the others are a month out on special order. That's not going to work as classes start in 2.5 weeks. I've also checked with DK books and they may have a better line on one of the 3 remaining books I need but still not the one stop shopping I was hoping for.

Hopefully those of you who have done distance learning already can offer some other suggestions for obtaining US text books here. As a last resort I will have them shipped from the uni's bookstore to my family's house who will then forward the books on to me in BKK. It will be quite expensive though, I hope it doesn't come to this.

pm me what books you need. If they're available in ABAC's library I can borrow them and get them copied for you. Couple of hundred baht each to get books copied.

None of the other ones either actually. Sorry.

Try Thammasat. They'll copy books for you in the library itself. No need to borrow them.

Re: Getting a degree by distance

KK, I did try looking for a torrent of the audio CDs but I suppose some of these books could have been scanned and are now downloadable. Will give it a go.

This is a good thread before I diverted it looking for books so I'm going to split off the posts about the books to a new thread "Where to get text books for distance / online learning." in the resource pool.

That might be very helpful but let me try to run down some other options first. Thanks!

Am finding some of the titles I need at Thammasat Rangsit campus library. Here's a link to their library web site:

Here's a few more links that might be helpful for someone.
