Yay Science Labs: Oceans

For those who teach science, somewhere in the MoE strands is a requirement that you teach about oceans. Now since it is next to impossible to arrange an all-expense paid trip for you and your classes to the beach, why not bring the ocean to your classroom? These science labs provide various ways of simulating parts of the ocean in your class. In one lab, students can actually recreate a "mini-ocean" for study and experiments. I have included four labs in this packet. They include:
  1. Making Waves (literal waves, not making you crazy)
  2. Sink or Float (testing flotation in various degrees of salinity)
  3. Salt Concentration
  4. Floating: Freshwater versus Saltwater
All labs are complete and come with the following:
  • Detailed worksheets for the students
  • Materials lists
  • Data charts
  • Teacher notes
  • Expected outcomes
You can download this packet of science labs at Ocean Labs.rar

Enjoy!

Re: Science Labs: Oceans

Thanks Wangsuda. I'm not teaching science at the moment, but you never know when this may come in handy.
