Thread: did marines slaughter women and children "in cold blood

the parallels to vietnam are breathtaking.

a unit of marines apparently stormed a house full of women and children and slaughtered them all because one of their own had been killed by a road side bomb.

are the marines to blame? absolutely. but, in their defense the pressure they're under must be incredible. the dereliction of duty by the civilian leaders at the pentagon are also to blame...there wasn't a real plan for after the invasion.

the sad part is that this type of story is only going to become more and more common in the months and years (yes, years) to come.

while the allegation has yet to be proven, from what is being written it appears very similar to mi lai. inexcusable behavior and i hope the perpetrators, if proven guilty, get substantial sentences.

we have soldiers beating folks to death and getting off with sentences more similar to dwi's or taking a deer out of season. whats happening in the usa is a mother fucking travesty. its sickening. whatever ones thoughts about the war how can this shit be justified? (rhetorically asked but i think an answer may be soon personified).

^doesnt matter. if what is alleged turns out to be true, it was wrong, illegal and stupid. panhunger, are you suggesting that a person needs a certain political affiliation to suggest that the (apparent) cold blooded murder of 15 unarmed kids and women was fucked up?

PH does the above suggest that you see no problem with this masacre? If so then you and the pathetic country whose loins you are the fruit of does not deserve to be called stupid, there as many worse terms that could be applied. Regardless of provocation your soldiers are supposed to be elite and your marines the elite of the elite, this incident shows them, and thus by implication the peoples they belong to to be no better than the insurgents and thus beyond contempt.

well, the only difference i can see, is that in one of the scenarios, the assailants usually walk away.
