How long an answer do you want to this question?
Germany had already lost the war by the end of 1942. D-Day was 1944.Originally Posted by preezeplessone

Oh, I see - you hate Europe and Europeans. That explains all the crap you've written in your postOriginally Posted by preezeplessone

it was interesting how much support there was among those serving in the U.S. military for anti-war candidate Ron Paul.
and a few thoughts from the left wing, complements of Gore Vidal:

However, in Vidal’s eyes, McCain is just a symptom of the real malaise affecting America today: the cynical subversion of the US constitution. “The Bush people”, he says, “have virtually got rid of Magna Carta and habeas corpus. In a normal republic I would probably have raised an army and overthrown them. It will take a hundred years to put it all back.”
By now he has worked himself up to a crisp fury: “Those neocons, lawyers, the big corporations – worse than that, extremists – want to get rid of the great power of oversight of the executive. See what they’ll try to do to Obama. They’re crooks. They’re just gangsters. They are the enemy of the United States. There’s no such thing as a war on terrorism. It’s idiotic. There are slogans. It’s advertising, which is the only art form we’ve invented and developed. It’s lies.”
gotta say that I agree with him, esp. the part about "There’s no such thing as a war on terrorism."

The pedophiles would be speaking German--not English, so I guess they would be walking around Pattaya disguised as T"G"FLers.
No, Don't hate the Europeans; just the Leftists.
Furthermore, since when it is the job of the military to dictate foreign policy? uhh, NEVER!
A soldiers job is to follow orders. Think how much chaos there would be if every Regiment had to have a political debate before every mission. It just doesn't work that way. You sign up; you do what they tell you.
Actually, the Iraq war has provoked debate among military officers on this very matter. Perhaps it is the job of a General to tell his C-in-C when he thinks foreign policy has devolved into utter madness.
Incidentally, the British army did experience a mutiny from its officers in 1914:
Curragh Incident - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
So this is not an entirely new debate.

Behind the close door, I'm sure everyone is telling the president what they think then after he listen to all of the experts, then the president make the final call.

Hmmm....I'm not convinced that it does actually work like that, in practice.

Not with this 'President'. My guess, from watching this administration in action, is if you express dissent you get shown the door.
A Proud Canadian.
My impression exactly.
