Actually, the Iraq war has provoked debate among military officers on this very matter. Perhaps it is the job of a General to tell his C-in-C when he thinks foreign policy has devolved into utter madness.

So this is not an entirely new debate.

The Army's chief is the president, the president got the trust and picked by the people....as a nation, we're in it together. Let do the best we can at the moment and hope thing will turn out better for our children and grand children.

Behind the close door, I'm sure everyone is telling the president what they think then after he listen to all of the experts, then the president make the final call.

Hmmm....I'm not convinced that it does actually work like that, in practice.

Not with this 'President'. My guess, from watching this administration in action, is if you express dissent you get shown the door.
