Without a doubt Saakashvili made a colossal blunder that will hurt Georgia for years to come by thinking that America could be able to come in on a white horse to save the day. Both the Russians and the Georgians are to blame for the war. The only difference is that Russia has a lot more firepower than Georgia.

This truly opens up Pandora Box in sense. While many liberals / socialists on the Ajarn forums strongly disagree with the Iraq invasion none can deny that it was strongly debated within the UN and several nations (not only the UK and the USA) participated in the invasion. What Russia did was a unilateral attack on a sovereign nation and sets a very dangerous precedent for other countries.

I wonder what the overwhelming response on the Ajarn Forums would be if only the countries name were switiched but similar circumstance. Instead of Russia-Georgia lets say Israel-Palestinian. Hypocrisy at its best.
