That's not quite right. Big difference in experience between Obama and this lady. Poltics. World travel. Authorship. Professorship. Community organizing. Of course, you're not about to step back and consider any of this so...fuggetabouddit.

You probably think a 'professorship' is shit liberal intellectual gaylovers are into and its scary scary.

I agree. Seems pretty normal for the GOP, though. It's more and more just a front for the big bad business and bomb boys with less and less pretense. That's what ya gotta love about Democrats, at least. They still kind of try to act like they're public servants sometimes.

Very good points, but again, talking to a brick wall. Remember: Obama's middle name is Hussein!!!!!!!!!!!

How silly is it now to be reducing things down to such simplistic metrics as 'years in Washington'. You've truly been well trained by the pundits and commercial news to keep thinking in these silly little boxes with only slim weak connections to reality.

    Re: Palin Family Values

Actually if the daughter got pregnant and the mother covered for her, I give the mother a lot of credit. Protecting the daughter. Avoiding the abortion (I am pro-choice and so cheers to her and her family on the choice made.) .

Just because I think she is a shallow, un-vetted, vindictive, and dangerous choice for a job that will probably lead to the most important job in America, doesn't mean I don't respect the family decisions she makes to protect her daughter.

I am not going to fault her on this.

She is, after all, going to be the child's mother just as surely as any another adopting parent would be to their adopted infant.

So for me, this is a non-story. Not our business.

The sick time would be permitted to care for a sick family member or to adopt so no abuse of sick leave. Non-issue.

This lady has enough blemishes already, we don't need to look at the teen daughter and the infant child.

The issue here comes down to state laws.

I did research the topic in regards to Alaskan Law. Infants can be legally adopted by parents as their own child.

    Below are the relevant statutes:
from: Alaska Statutes: AS 25.23.150. Confidential Nature of Hearings and Records in Adoption Proceedings.

AS 25.23.150. Confidential Nature of Hearings and Records in Adoption Proceedings.

    (a) All hearings held in proceedings under this chapter shall be held in closed court without admittance of any person other than essential officers of the court, the parties, their witnesses, counsel, persons who have not previously consented to the adoption but are required to consent, and representatives of the agencies present to perform their official duties. (b) The papers and records relating to an adoption or a termination of parental rights under AS 25.23.180 (c)(3) that are a part of the permanent record of a court are subject to inspection only upon consent of the court. The papers and records relating to an adoption or a termination of parental rights under AS 25.23.180 (c)(3) on file with the department, an agency, or an individual are subject to inspection only with consent of all interested persons or by order of a court for good cause shown. Except as provided in this section, adoption records of the Bureau of Vital Statistics are subject to inspection under the provisions of AS 18.50. (c) Except as otherwise provided by law, or as authorized in writing by the adopted child, if 14 or more years of age, or by the adoptive parent, or upon order of the court for good cause shown, a person may not disclose the identity or address of an adoptive parent, an adopted child, a child who is the subject of a proceeding under AS 25.23.180(c)(3), or a biological parent whose parental rights have been terminated on grounds set out in AS 25.23.180 (c)(3).Above from: Alaska Statutes: AS 25.23.150. Confidential Nature of Hearings and Records in Adoption Proceedings.

    (d) The court may order the disclosure of a natural parent's identity or address only if (1) the court makes an express finding that the disclosure is required because of a medical necessity or other extraordinary circumstance; and that poses an immediate risk to life.

    Another section:
    (b) Substitute Birth Certificate. At the request of the adoptive parent and upon payment of fees and completion of forms, the clerk of court shall send a request for a substitute birth certificate to the appropriate state's vital statistics office.

So Alaska state law limits the information to the participants and it would be illegal for anyone to come out and say, the baby was adopted. Case closed.

    So to recap.

The baby is probably the child of the daughter.
The family probably decided to have her have the child but the parents adopted it.
    Alaskan adoption is closed.
Anyone disclosing it will be charged with a violation of law.
(So no social workers, nurses, or doctors are going to be on Larry King since they would probably lose there state licenses to practice in addition to civil and criminal charges.)
A substitute birth certificate was probably legally be made.
No cover-up since the laws are being followed exactly to the letter of the law.

(IE. The parties, the court, and the persons directly involved know the truth but are required not to disclose it. Not a cover-up.)

Cheers to your fifth child Mr. and Mrs Palin.

Now let's defeat this McCain/Palin ticket and forget about paternity tests.

    Re: Palin Family Values

In picking a diaper-changing, gun-toting former beauty queen, McCain, on the other hand, made a decision consistent with his own track record. While Palin lacks experience, she has a string of real accomplishments to show for herself.

As a mayor, she cut property taxes 40 percent and reduced her own salary. She came across as forceful, a trait that attracted the leaders of Alaska’s Republican Party. They arranged for her to be appointed to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission in 2003.

Just after joining the commission, Palin led an ethics probe of the commission's chairman, Randy Ruedrich, who was also the state GOP chairman. Facing conflict-of interest-allegations, Ruedrich admitted ethics violations and resigned.

As governor, she opposed a federal earmark for the $400 million so-called bridge to nowhere. She used her veto power to cut nearly $2 billion from the state budget. She was successful in enacting ethics reform legislation. While pushing to develop more energy resources, she increased taxes on oil production, saying the companies had bribed legislators to keep taxes low. That will enable her to deliver a rebate of $1,200 to each state resident.

In contrast, Obama has virtually no accomplishments beyond getting himself elected. While he often talks about his work as a community organizer, he never achieved his one goal—eliminating asbestos from a single housing project in Chicago.

In both the Illinois Senate and the U.S. Senate, Obama developed a reputation for voting “present,” thus avoiding controversial decisions that could be used against him later. In the U.S. Senate, he has missed more than one in five votes. Only one of the measures Obama has sponsored as a U.S. senator was enacted: a bill to “promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”

Contrary to Obama’s portrayal of himself as a unifier, on every bipartisan effort in the Senate to forge compromises on tough issues, Obama has been missing in action.
When it comes to change, Palin has done it; Obama has mainly changed his mind.

Newsmax.com – McCain Shows He Is the Genuine Article

Gov Palin has walked the walk while Sen. RockBambi has just merely talked the talked.

I had expected that Obama's bounce would be nullified after an entire week of the Republican convention. But now its happened in one day! In fact, we will never know how big Obama's bounce was since his speech was late on Thursday and Palin was appointed during the day on Friday, so no evening polling was possible in between. My guess is that had there been a poll on Friday and Palin not chosen until Saturday, it would have recorded a 10-15 point Obama bounce. But that is gone with the wind!

Hello President McCain and Madame Vice President Palin.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin visits with Army Pfc. John Kegley during a morale tour at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany, July 26, 2007. Kegley is from Alaska and is being treated at LRMC for injuries he suffered while down range.

Spotted ++ The focus is on you
Where oh where was RockBambi at when he recently visited Landstuhl? Playing basketball and trying to look kool?

According to a 2001 Gallup poll,[67] about 45% of Americans believe that "God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years or so." Another 37% believe that "Human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God guided this process."[68] Only 14% believe that "human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God had no part in this process."[67]
