For some reason Farangrakthai did not enjoy my analysis of the current situation in the middle east and decided that it was in his best interest to "red" me. Have you let out all of your steam and frustration Farang? Are you feeling better now?
It seems to me that Golani is putting up arguments as valid as any other on this thread.
A significant number of people in this region simply want to exterminate each other. It's been a way of life for centuries. There's an old bedouin saying which goes something like 'First hostility to my brother, then hostility to other families, then hostility to other tribes, then hostility to other nations.' Geopolitics here are predicated on hostility to Israel.
Not that I'm pro - isreali.
I can't see any more 'wrong' or 'right' on one side or the other.
You might as well just pick a side and argue their cause as if it's a sports team.
Or maybe, if you don't even have the intellectual capacity to even manage that, just google articles at random and paste them up. It makes you look well read.![]()
That's what I was trying to say in my own clumsy way. Thanks!
Golani,
you just sound like someone who watches cnn and sees things black and white. no one here can really be called the aggressor or victim. they are both in the wrong and this war is just making the violence worse. kids are dying yet the rockets haven't stopped. they are accomplishing nothing but turn angry young guys in gaza into more enemies to replace the ones they just killed.
If Israel and the USA really tries everything possible as far as diplomacy they would not be where they are today, which is nowhere and accomplishing nothing. The aggression will not stop and the rockets will not stop just because Israel invades gaza. Even if they turn Gaza into a parking lot as you say, rockets will still be fired from somewhere else. Obviously Hamas will not agree to a ceasefire that, in their view, doesn't benefit them and it's being "brokered" by people they hate and don't have their best interest in mind (in their view). Egypt is involved in all this. Israel and Egypt, 2 countries that are the borders of Gaza which has been turned into a really big refugee camp cut off from the rest of the world, are brokering a ceasefire. Obviously Hamas has an issue with it.
Israel didn't try everything in their power because they still refuse to deal with Hamas. They are "dealing" with them through other people.
I am not taking any sides because these people have been hating each other since biblical times. It is sad that the media takes sides and people see this as a black and white issue. it is not as simple as "Israel told them repeatedly not to fire any more rockets. they continued to fire rockets so they got what they deserved". I think that argument is really stupid. Things are not that simple. I don't buy that argument.

a gift of "extra fresh" red socks for Golani.
Cyrille, I read and post articles because I'm interested in them, just like you are interested in your football or cricket, I guess. stick to that would be my advice or your keen interest in debating the pedo topics.
if you're not interested in quoting something from another's post and discussing it on a discussion forum, then why are you even posting on this thread, you twat!!
anyway, Golani, had a few beers tonight, shall debate your points tomorrow.
click on top of video: I like the Jew and the Arab driving in the car together and there can be peace in the middle east no matter what the the racists and pessimists say.

"A hundred years ago you were living in tents out here in the desert chopping each other's heads off and that's where you'll be in another hundred years."
A friend of mine showed me a picture he took on his cell phone of a car in front of him on the way into work here in Kuwait.
On he back window of the car was painted..
Judaism has no right to exist
What I find very interesting is that we have this discussion and draw these comparisons (like what would USA do if Mexico wanted their land back, etc....) only when it comes to this little dot on the world map called.... whatever the feck it's called.
There are many conflicts where the West encouraged unlawful secessions like in USSR, Yugoslavia and Checzoslovakia, yet many don't even scratch their arse and probably don't even have an opinion on this. Why da f^%$ is this conflict so important that it gets a top prioroty on news media internet forums???
Just let them sort this shit out themselves, like the rest of the world did![]()
We kept waiting
Still nothing changes
It's a shame
Then you will see other cars owned by Pakistanis with stickers and scarves in the windows about destroying Indians in Kashmir, etc etc
These guys are bachelors with very few things to do to occupy their time, not allowed to mix with women etc. It's very much like football hooliganism the way they gang together.
The big weekend treat is when a group of 50 or so of them will gather on a street corner to watch wrestling on a portable tv through a restaurant window.
Yet individually they can be the most gentlemanly people you could meet.
(Panhunger - you've posted exactly that word about a dozen times this week, and sent me numerous messages with exactly the same sentiments. You must spend far more time greening and reddiing than you ever do posting. Thank heaven for small mercies, I guess)
Yeah, and internet coverage of the Boer War was non existent.![]()

That's a quote from the movie Syriana (Matt Damon); you should give the credit for that! Your bad!
I never red...
I'm truly sorry that reality doesn't fit with your perceptions. I said early on in another thread that if Hamas hadn't have done what Israel told them not to do, then Israel wouldn't have did what they said they would do if Hamas did what they were told not to do and what the world is blaming them for doing...it's that simple...![]()

Cyrille, I liked your old avatar!!!!!!
PLEASE, GO BACK TO YOUR OLD AVATAR!
Mr Computer is well keen on that av. but yeah, I sort of prefer this one too.
That woman in the pic was a bit too clingy anyway.
Sure the sex was great, but there's more to life than that, and I had to move on.
