This is a strange story indeed. It appears Muslims in the UK say stocking the Koran anywhere but on the top shelf, above all other books, is an insult. So, in appeasing type fashion, UK libraries have decided to stock the book on the top shelf.
Is this the right decision?

Its a lot fairer to stock none of the religious books. This will also stop arguments.

Who even goes to the library to read a religious text? Surely those who believe strongly enough would have their own copy of their choice of book. And for those who read to become more knowledgeable about other faiths - well how often does that happen?

Libraries are also places of reference and I should think that, in the case of religious tracts, these would be classed as being there for reference.
