Whatever, Jellyballs. Since our join dates are the same, I could easily know what you've been saying, that is if I gave enough of a damn about your opinion to read your earlier posts. Every one of your posts with regards to the U.S. and Americans is the same boring, drivel. A country you undoubtedly have never been to, and your stereotypical, preconceived notions obviously derive from crap you've seen on TV, read in some Aussie rag, or from what one of your "mates" told you. Obviously unable to form an opinion of your own.
You stupid Bint.
Since Australia banned private ownership of most guns in 1996, crime has risen dramatically on that continent, prompting critics of U.S. gun control efforts to issue new warnings of what life in America could be like if Congress ever bans firearms.
After Australian lawmakers passed widespread gun bans, owners were forced to surrender about 650,000 weapons, which were later slated for destruction, according to statistics from the Australian Sporting Shooters Association.
The bans were not limited to so-called "assault" weapons or military-type firearms, but also to .22 rifles and shotguns. The effort cost the Australian government about $500 million, said association representative Keith Tidswell.
Though lawmakers responsible for passing the ban promised a safer country, the nation's crime statistics tell a different story:
* Countrywide, homicides are up 3.2 percent;
* Assaults are up 8.6 percent;
* Amazingly, armed robberies have climbed nearly 45 percent;
* In the Australian state of Victoria, gun homicides have climbed 300 percent;
* In the 25 years before the gun bans, crime in Australia had been dropping steadily;
* There has been a reported "dramatic increase" in home burglaries and assaults on the elderly.
Crime up Down Under [/QUOTE]
Undoubtedly you will, "go on and on", showing your stupidity.

you are stereotyping rightwing, redneck Americans and there are plenty of them, and they make up a lot of middle america,
though they are not the stereotype of Americans on the east and west coasts. JB would you stereotype Australians as the typical Aussie who lives in the outback?
KC, you're with nuckingfutz, Golani and the NRA on this issue?![]()

Oh! So you have to go there to see how great the US of A is? You cannot be aware of what their foreign policy is, unless you live there?
What rot! Living in the USA garuantees you dont know the damage your country has done and continues to do in the world.
Land of the free? What a laugh! Your government spies on you, keeps records on you and sometimes treats its own citizens as enemies because they have a different political agenda.
Do you not know the damage your country caused in Central and South America in the sixties, seventies and eighties? And in Laos and Cambodia in the same era?
I suppose that makes you an 'important' country.
No I wouldn't. But then nor would I say that my country is more 'important' nor 'interesting' than anothers, unless I had my head way, way, up my bum.

No, you don't Jellybrain, but a visit there might give you a more informed opinion of the U.S. and maybe you wouldn't sound so ignorant.
You've got all the anti-American rhetoric down. Regurgitating shit you've read here, watched there. The fact is, you know fuckall about Americans, and you're as narrow-minded and idiotic as the very people you are trying in vain to put down.
Oh come on! A report by the shooters association? Full of shit!
No! You all ought to take a good long look at your country's foreign policy and then tell the world that they, not you, are narrow minded.
You all cannot be that stupid! God help the world if you are.
Apart from telling me I am stupid, do you have any idea of the harm that your country has done in the world? Whether for economic reasons or just out of blind prejudice?
^
Jellybrain, your childish, "I know you are, but what am I?" posts are growing tiresome. I learned a long time ago, you don't base your opinions on people and places on only what you've read and heard. You show your ignorance when you do. While I was living in the U.S. I met a lot of wonderful Europeans, Aussies, Kiwis, on tour in the U.S. and they had great things to say about the country and the people. After 14 years of living abroad the only people I've met that spout such anti-American drivel are people such as yourself who have never been there and naive enough to base there opinions on what they've read and seen on TV. I'm not proud of everything my government's done over the years, but we've done a hell of a lot more good than harm, and the world is a better place for it.
So, I'll leave you to your anti-American rants. You've bored me to sleep.
Jelly,
I really don't care for your jump on the bandwagon "Americans are all brainwashed idiots" bullshit as of lately. Especially when your former prime minister was Mr Bush's lap dog and just two years ago was trying to spread the gospel about the terrorist danger that the world would be in if Obama were elected.
Don't go making generalizations about all of us because we, like every nation in the world, have some idiots. Don't start telling us what we need to do differently, that our government is the only one that lies to us. It's easy to point the finger when it's not your country isn't it?

Is it safe to post a link to a very nice version of I Wish I was In Dixiland that I've recently run across now?

Well, you would, wouldnt you? If you could get your own head out, that is.
I would just ignore Miss Jelly Bean, she, like many Aussies and Brits I've met, has an inferiority complex about her culture, so what she does is she thinks "Well at least I'm not an American" and she bags on them so she can justify a little bit of Australian patriotism. In the process, these people decide it's much easier to classify all Americans as Golani and Nuckingfutz, yet what I notice, is that the only Aussies and Europeans who ever bag on America and Americans are those who've never actually been there.
That being said, I quite like Aussies and Brits, I just don't like being judged because of my country, especially by people of other nations which supported my government's erroneous moves.
Don't take your insecurities about your patriotism out on us Jelly![]()

Jellybean is pathetic, especially on this issue. Kingdom has it right when he says she's as hypocritical, narrow-minded and ignorant as the minority of Americans she attacks. Every country has it's nutters and has done horrific things. Australia is noted for doing some pretty hideous things and my experience of them has been extremely varied. From left leaning, open minded, intelligent individuals to stupid, racist, bigots.
There's so much about America that drives me nuts, and so much that I adore. I've been there several times and I'd say that if you haven't actually been to the country then you're at a massive dis-advantage when it comes to forming an intelligent, informed opinion.
Some of my best friends are from the states and the overwhelming experience of yanks is that they are genuine, honest, fun-loving, people that will bend over backwards to help you out or offer advice.
PS: Why is Jellybean a Mod? She has shown herself to be a narrow-minded, reactionary, thug that obviously has serious amounts of sand stuck up her vagina. Surely Ajarn.com can do batter than her?
