    LENNOX LEWIS IS COMING BACK

LENNOX LEWIS is ready to step back in the ring against Vitali Klitschko.

According to a report in British newspaper the Sunday Mirror Lennox Lewis is to make a comeback after reportedly receiving an offer of £21million to fight Vitali Klitschko. The former undisputed heavyweight champion quit the sport last year but says the huge financial reward on offer has tempted him to make a return to the ring.

Lewis quit as undisputed heavyweight champion last January but admits a reported offer of £21million is too much to turn down.

He said: "I'm making a comeback later this year.

"The money is up to £21million right now and I simply can't turn that much cash down."

Lewis, who beat Klitschko in July 2003, recently stated he was fed up listening to the Ukrainian's boasts.

After seeing Klitschko dismantle Danny Williams in November, Lewis said: "I wanted to get in the ring and show Danny how to beat him.

"I've had to listen to a lot of rubbish from Klitschko and he is starting to get on my nerves."

When I was in America a guy told me to 'have a nice day' but I didn't, so I sued him

It's for the love of the 'sport' then, eh Lennox?

Gonna be donating any of that money to worthy causes?

    Nah, thought not
The first 10 million years were the worst
    And the next
After that I went into a bit of a decline

I'm sure that Lennox Lewis will train 150% for this fight - its worth it - & give Klitschko a thumping... Nothing wrong with Klit, but a fired-up Lewis is simply better...

Sorry. Don't agree. Klitschko is a true, heavyweight boxer. Lewis was getting his ass kicked the last time they fought. Unfortunately, the fight was stopped. That won't happen again.

It sure did look that way, but I felt that Lennox did not come into that fight with his usual spirit... let's see the next time...

I disagree. A hungry Lewis can take apart any Boxer. With his hunger and 21 million pounds i really can't see anyone beating him. Gone are the days of big lucky right hooks. When you look how Lewis has taken apart his previous opponents, technically he's one of the greats. It would be a shame to see him beaten after retiring. The one thing that can ruin a boxer is just what he intends to do return to his old status. I think he'll do it with ease but when will this returning from retirement stop.

    Bio
just what do you base this ground less shite about the last fight on. Lennox getting his assed kicked, what about the 40+ stitches Klitschko recieved, as a boxer myself i can tell you that doesent come from 1 lucky punch.

I think LL is too old, doesent need the money and shouldnt bother, i do think he looks at the heavyweight scene and thinks with all these pussies he may as well come back,
as Diaw sdaid even an old lewis is too big and too good for him, not that he's a bad fighter

Added after 1 hours 1 minutes:

Anyway its all aload of crap so i guess we will never know

Former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis has denied reports suggesting he is ready to come out of retirement to fight Vitali Klitschko.
Lewis was quoted in the Sunday Mirror saying that he had been offered £21m to fight the Ukrainian later this year.

But the 39-year-old has now released a statement denying the reports.

"I want to reiterate what I said when I retired that I will be one of the few heavyweight champions to retire on top and stay retired," he said.

"I boxed professionally for many years and there will always be an attraction to the sport - but I'm not returning to the ring.

"The recent attention given to the possibility of a comeback is flattering and evidences the public's desire for someone to establish a legacy similar to the one I left behind as the true heavyweight champion of the world," he added.

The Sunday Mirror quoted Lewis as saying: "I'm going to start training seriously and I'm going back to England to start sorting this out.

"I need the money just like everyone else and it's just too good to be turned down."

The three-time world champion stopped Klitschko on cuts in June, 2003 when the Ukrainian was ahead on points.

He retired last February but hinted at a return last month after Danny Williams' crushing defeat at the hands of Klitschko.

    Have Your Say
Should Lewis return to the ring?

"I wanted to get in the ring and show Danny how to beat him," the Briton said at the time.

"I've had to listen to a lot of rubbish from Klitschko and he is starting to get on my nerves."

Klitschko has repeatedly called on Lewis to fight him again and is always quick to point out he was winning their last fight before cuts intervened.

The initial reports of Lewis' return were welcomed by the Klitschko camp.

Bernd Boente, manager of the WBC champion, told BBC Five Live: "I have talked to Vitali and he's happy to go."

But Boente said his charge is currently focused on a mandatory defence against Hasim Rahman in May.

Rahman knocked Lewis out in 2001 to claim the WBC and IBF belts before being dismantled in a rematch later that year.

Lewis is a puss. Klitschko sent him into retirement because the pussy was too scared to give him a rematch. Why? Because he knew he'd get his ass kicked, just like the first time. What do you think would have happened if he didn't get that cut? Simple. Klitschko would have beat his ass!

Just goes to show you should never believe anything you read in the Mirror. Lewis has since confirmed he has no intention of returning to the sport. He recently became a father for the first tinme and his girlfriend and mother are adamant they don't want him to fight again.

All the talk about what might have happened is silly. Plenty of fighters are behind at the halfway stage of a fight but rally to win in the second half. Klitschko was unable to continue after several big punches from Lewis made him bleed like a stuck pig. Klitschko lost fair and square and that's the end of it.

That explains why Klitschko was ahead on all the score cards, right?
