Perfect example of ragging on a sport you know nothing about. NFL football players are the biggest, fastest, hardest hitting athletes of any team sport in the world. There is a reason for the pads.

I think you are missing out on a certain subtle difference between cricket and baseball. If the pitcher in baseball smacks the batsmen in the ribcage or shoulder a couple of times both benches will empty and there'll be a bit of fist throwing and punching going on out in the middle. In cricket if the ball smacks into a player's ribcage or bounces viciously up into his crotch the only comment may be, 'Hmm, that was a nasty one. The batsman should learn to handle that.'

Actually, I like both sports so I don't feel the need to get into a na-na-neener-neener spitting contest over which is more 'manly'.

They throw at an imaginary box away from the batter, then get slightly miffed if it hits them. You are allowed to bowl at the head in cricket! Played both, I know which one's easier.
