Fantasy Premier League is back for the 2005/06 Barclays Premiership campaign - and this season is better than ever.

There are several improvements to Fantasy Premier League for the new Barclays Premiership season, including the introduction of Actim Index bonus points.

The top three players in each game according to the Actim Index - the official ratings system of the Barclays Premiership - will receive bonus points.

A new assist definition has also been introduced, along with more realistic team formations, changes to the scoring system and improvements to private leagues.

Who is not the new managers favourites? Who will get subbed and booked at 58 minutes. who will have a last minute injury withdrawal - after being made team captain. Who will come off your bench and score a hat trick of assists when you didnt think he will play, who will be suspended but shown as available on the site........

Very very difficult this season to choose a decent side. I've tinkered with the bloody thing for an hour and still given up at the end of it. As Uncle Harry says, if you put Henry in, then you are severely limited to what other 'superstars' you can include. I thought that I'd build my side around Henry and Lampard and by the end I had no money and three places to fill. Even Wigan players were too expensive!

I think it's no bad thing though Harry. Too many people relied on Henry as captain last season (me included) and a lot of the skill went out of it.

Anyone playing this season is seriously going to have to look at sides like Everton, Birmingham City and Middlesbrough to form the nucleus of the team. Gone are the days of having Henry, Lampard, Terry and Gerrard in the same eleven.

I just want to get off to a decent start this season - that's all. I've played this for the past four seasons and every single time I find myself 40-50 points adrift before August is out. Then by Christmas I've usually lost interest altogether.

It would be nice if we could have as many teams as last season. About 60 wasn't it?

I know this is a terrible question to ask, but who actually won last season? I really did lose interest towards the end and was ashamed at my selection incompetence.
Was it Frog Patrol crowned champion?

I think Bellamy of Blackburn Rovers looks a decent buy for a striker (8.5)
Not so sure about Kevin Philips (Aston Villa) though at 8.0
I just can't justify spending 14.0 on Henry.

My squad are still busy playing cricket, but I should get most of them back before the start of the season.

Well, Shilo's Prowlers now makes it 14 teams in the mix....

Last year was my first season and I didn't know diddle about the game. If someone offered me a choice between Henry and Fowler I would have had to flip a coin. Needless to say, I started with a piss poor team and had to make 72 transfers before I seemed to get it right.

But in the end I racked up 1906 points and finished 3rd in my main league. It looks like the 1906 would have captured a top 10 finish in this league.

I have put together a team and I'm happy to say that I actually got a clue about these players. I agree that it seems to be harder this time around. Henry is at 14m, Riise is now listed as a true midfielder so I can't pick him up at the lower defender price tag, and they changed another rule so that now we have to start at least 3 defenders in each game. Gone are the days of filling your bench with ultra low price defenders who never play and using the extra savings to beef up your midfield and strikers.
