i had to rush my changes to the team yesterday (17.28) and made the mistake of keeping vermaelen (and caszola (can't spell that)) on the bench. if they both have good games tonight i might punch myself in the face. i also got rid of tevez to make room of three good, if not standing, strikers: berbatov, lambert, podolski. hoping he has a quiet night tonight.

so far though, the wild card has proved helpful. to me, the first should be played soon. if you're good, you won't need another until you see the jan transfers anyways.

that would be a double downer. do they double negative points for captains?

on a separate note, would it make sense for outfield players to receive some bonus points for goal line clearances? personally, i'd like to see that.

also, if a keeper stops a PK but doesn't manage to keep hold of it and the opposing team puts in the deflected ball, does he still get the points for stopping a PK (worth 3 points i believe)? surely the PK taker loses his points (2 or 3 i think), right?

    Yes.

This is fantasy football so I shall live with the dream that Tevez and Vermaelen will both score and Cesar will save a couple of penalties.

Not much chance of my fantasy coming true since it appears that neither Tevez nor Vermaelen have started.

I have points on the bench to cover them thankfully

....half an hour into the game and a yellow mark comes up under Vermaelen telling us that he is ill and has a 50% chance of playing.

    NOW THEY TELL US

I've ended up with 49 points which is on the high end for this week, and consequently my team have moved up.

I was sort of right about Cesar. 8 saves so the QPR defence basically went home at half time. No wonder Green was angry at being replaced.

By pure co-incidence I had replaced Vermaelen for next week as I don't fancy Arsenal's chances.

best week thus far for me. jumped up 20 slots in AF league.

tevez didn't start and my strikers combined for 20+ points.
vermaelen didn't start and two of my three defenders scored clean sheets.
the only thing that didn't go my way was not playing cazorla.

    only 7 points behind you...

I'm happy with my new team since the points are spread about more evenly. It is nice getting ten points for RVP one week but if he only averages six points a game then he is overpriced.

My team moved up two places from 16 to 14 which is enough for me. The higher you get the tougher it becomes.

I saw the Liverpool game and feel desperately sorry for Gerrard. a player of his ability could earn more money sitting on the bench at Man City. If they do drop my guess is he would remain for the next season to try and get them back up but after that???

my thoughts exactly. that first bullet that got deflected right of the goal was amazing. haven't seem him play that well for quite some time. i'm sure he was playing from the heart yesterday.

don't think they'll drop but i'd say they will struggle to see europe next year.

nearly put your boyfriend cesar on my new team but couldn't quite fit him in.

Made a crafty move by praising Podolski...and many put him in their sides (maybe of their own accord tbf).

I...put him on the bench and brought in...BA!

    Mwhahahahahaaha!

    Up to 17th.

Only mistake was not putting Fellani as my captain
