Daniel Bedingfield claimed that his new album is what it would sound like if Sting, Stevie Wonder and Micheal Jackson were in a basement together - I haven't got the album so I'll have to imagine the sound of a blind bloke and a Geordie kicking the shit out of a pedophile.

I find this talk of desecrating the American flag truly offensive. Allow me to educate you scoundrels:

The IOC have done well putting all the events live on youtube or available as videos to watch later. I've been converting the vids to play on my media player so I can watch on my TV with English commentary.
All very good. Just one problem. Some complete and utter fool at the IOC has decided that spoilers are a good idea. Looked for the vid on their channel of the 100m women's final and I was astounded at the title. Not to give it away but it was something like 'so and so wins 100m gold'. Other spoilers include not giving the result away in the title, but showing a particular athlete celebrating with a gold medal in the video jpg. They've done this with a few vids and someone needs to tell 'em (you can't comment on their page), that it's a STUPID FOOKING IDEA!

I fully expect random muppets to spoil it in youtube vids (which I avoided) but NOT the bloody IOC FFS
In fact, in the words of Clarkson...'They should be shot in front of their families.'
".Tony Banks described the English fans arrested in Marseilles as 'brain dead idiots'. That goes for me as well. ".

I know it's a bit premature and will not happen but I would LOVE the closing ceremony to have something like this
played into every major stadium in the UK and all of the money to go to charity. It would make a small fortune when you think that the UK has several stadiums that crack the 50k mark.
Christian Site's Ban on 'G' Word Sends Homosexual to Olympics
By Mary Ann Akers | July 1, 2008; 12:18 PM ET
The American Family Association obviously didn't foresee the problems that might arise with its strict policy to always replace the word "gay" with "homosexual" on the Web site of its Christian news outlet,OneNewsNow. The group's automated system for changing the forbidden word wound up publishing a story about a world-class sprinter named "Tyson Homosexual" who qualified this week for the Beijing Olympics.
The problem: Tyson's real last name is Gay. Therefore, OneNewsNow's reliable software changed the Associated Press story about Tyson Gay's amazing Olympic qualifying trial to read this way:
Tyson Homosexual was a blur in blue, sprinting 100 meters faster than anyone ever has.
His time of 9.68 seconds at the U.S. Olympic trials Sunday doesn't count as a world record, because it was run with the help of a too-strong tailwind. Here's what does matter: Homosexual qualified for his first Summer Games team and served notice he's certainly someone to watch in Beijing.
"It means a lot to me," the 25-year-old Homosexual said. "I'm glad my body could do it, because now I know I have it in me."
Rest of the story: The Sleuth - Christian Site's Ban on 'G' Word Sends Homosexual to Olympics
---Update---
^I guess that's news from the Beijing games. Still funny though.
......wonderful!
...majestically enthroned amid the vulgar herd...
Man, what a finish! Women's Volley Ball, Russia vs. Brazil .. lot of eye caviar as well.
One of the reasons I don't watch Formula One anymore is because it seems "fixed...
I thought there would become a point where the Olympics became very politicized as well....
The news here, and in the world press, seems to be that the Canadian Womens soccer team was robbed of a shot at the gold by some extremely poor refereeing calls and it now seems the Scandinavian official involved may have come under some American pressure before the game
Politics and the Olympics. It's always been there I know.
But, imo, becoming more obvious and acceptable.
