u know it won't, every two or three years we have the same debate about players diving, we have the indignation but nothing changes because there is no consistency coming from the referees.
I don't think much of SAF, he's just an ugly fat guy with a front row seat to Man Utd games...and from what I hear a more than cordial relationship with the head of the FA and the EPL referees. I have plenty of respect for Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo and a smattering of other players that are actually responsible for Utd's recent success (apart from last season, where they didn't win shit!). But Giggs and Scholes days are over, finally...and the days of Utd winning trophies along with it, despite the best efforts of crooked referees.
As for the Packers and Seahawks...I don't give a shit. Patriots 45-7 over the Rams (at Wembley, BTW)...decent consolation for the bitter taste in my mouth left by Mr. Clattenburg.
Right. Let's get some facts straight here.
1. Ivanovic was trying to get out of the way. He brushed Young's back with his nipple. Young was on his way down before contact was made. Watch the replay, I'm right. So, Young dived (again).
2. Torres. He was kicked from behind. Not just a little tickle. He was clearly kicked. So you can't send him off. If anything, Evan's should have got red or at least a yellow. Far more contact here than with Young.
3. Utd's quick free kick. Chelsea making a substitution, 4th official ready. Ref sees it. Ignores it and allows a quick free kick from which Utd score. When the ball is dead (corner/free kick etc) and the signal has been given that a substitution is ready the ref should allow it. They always do. Just not yesterday for some reason.
4. Offside. The winning goal was offside. There is no arguement there.
5. Clattenburg's previous ban. Did you know that this ref was once banned for 8 months? Due to massive personal debts. He threatened the safety of a creditor's family in an email. I think that's all we need to know.

My logic goes like this...referees are naturally egotistic and very confident types...who have to have the balls to think quickly and back their decisions...right ot wrong...now either he is a compete idiot...unlikely...or he was bribed...again unlikely (I hope)...or he was aware the referees have been told to watch for dives...he at least saw it was overacting...that is exagerating the effect of the foot tap...or maybe he thought there was no contact...like I did when watching it in real time...either way in his mind the game was up for Pansy Torres...now if it were Danny Wellbeck, Christiano Ronaldo or Nani I would still see it the same way...Park Ji Soong is still my hero...can't think of any others...can you?
