    Rant NFL refereeing fiasco

I have just seen one of the biggest jokes of a refereeing decision...final play Seahawks v Green Bay...a touchdown will win...Seahawks throw a hail mary into the endzone from over twenty yards...Green Bay's Jennings clearly intercepts the ball...and heads to the ground...when he gets there a Sewhawk takes it off him...the ruling...one official says no touchdown...he was closest...another who comes in later and sees the Seahawk with the ball rules touchdown...the official review...touchdown...WTF!!!

It's a fucking outrage!!!!!! American's all concentrating on superficial things like violence in the Muslim world and the upcoming election, while something truly important like the NFL refs remains unresolved...

True... some people have their priorities all wrong...but those guys are well paid chai mai...and they have the benefit of a TV replay from all angles...and still get it wrong...the NRL and Rugby are having similar problems

...and the crowd are noisy...just like Stoke City in England...but that is fine...that is what the game is about...they can't help stupid referees...and can't be blamed for stealing the ball after the play...just in case some referee gets it wrong...that is what will happen now

I say get rid of refs and umpires. All of them. But I'm an anarchist by nature.

Replacement refs rob Green Bay of victory after bizarre last-second Hail Mary

I haven't seen the play, but if Jennings did not have complete possession of the ball when he went to the ground, then the catch would be ruled a simultaneous catch and the receiver would get possession. In that photo, the ref is clearly indicating a TD.

That isn't the point...I have always followed the Packers...that is why I was watching the game...but there have been some bad refereeing calls this season...how many calls do you see like that in baseball?

He got complete sole possession...and as he came down the defender fought for the ball...he didn't get it...but when they got to the ground in a jumble of bodies he got more of it...the TV replays are clear on this...

Apples, and oranges. But baseball does have its share of bad calls. Most of them involve safe/out calls, and without video review to reverse the call, they often look worse than what happens in the NFL.

every gm of baseball is called differently. there have been some fan interference calls/foul ball calls in the last decade that have caused ire.

anyway, baseball is a gm for old men. no interaction, just scratching and spitting and waiting...for something to finally happen

The exact same thing is happenning in the NRL in Australia...and people are saying the same thing...so what is the common ground...IMO it is the pathway for referees...it is a highly political system in Australia...and probably the US...so the pool of genuinely talented people who could do the job is too small for the low pay they get at the top...FFS there can be close calls in the heat of the moment...but when the call was referred for a decison based on the replay that is inexcusable...and that is exactly what has been happening over the past few weeks in Australia...thay have actually sacked a couple...for 2 weeks...and then let them back again
