I would like to know when the terms begin and finish in Thailand. I know that the upcoming term begins in May.....but when does it finish and when does the new term begin? Is it the beginning of October?

There are maybe 100 different starting/ending dates in Thailand. If you already have a job ask your people there. If you don't now is the time to find one. It does no good to know when the session starts because our first day at work isn't normally the first day of class. I have a six-week break between school years. I start the middle of May.
A good "rule of thumb" () is Semester 1: Mid May - End Sept; Semester 2: Start Nov - End Feb. Note however that most schools run at least a month of summer school between the end of semester 2 and the start of semester 1, these vary by school and most teachers get 4-6 weeks away from the brats.
I would go with defenders dates, they seem to jog very well with my kids school.
