This video was taken by a student at Bangkok Christian College in Bangkok, Thailand. It shows students being beaten with a cane for the crime of not having their hair cut short enough! Shame on those boys. The beater obviously enjoys his work.
The teacher is a barbarian & I hope he gets fired...Bangkok Christian College in Bangkok, Thailand
There is a legal distance a cane can be raised & the weight of said cane. This 'teacher' is an animal.
...true, but all the kids are having a great time!
Excuse me for not taking this seriously .....
How do you *know*... they smile because the 'animal' will clout them again if they don't...

what?
........great warmer
fun had by all. kids were luvvin it!.... the whole lesson was upbeat and educational. bravo.![]()
I was actually referring to the general laughter going on in the classroom as much as the kids who were getting whacked.they smile because the 'animal' will clout them again if they don't
Your comment makes me believe that you have never seen discipline being handed out in a government school. They don't always smile, but they don't get whacked again for not smiling - this is not Victorian England!
Unlike yourself Diaw, I teach kids who get whacked, they take it far less eriously than you![]()
I'm not saying it's right - but let's stick to the facts!
Not much different from our school. I've witnessed a whole class getting whacked like that..M2 girls and boys, by a female teacher when the whole class skipped. Corporal punishment is very much still a fact of life in most secondary schools in Thailand.
Having said that if a video gets made of it (and let's face it is illegal)...it's more power to the students, as they can turn it around on the teachers.
Also I do agree that the whole thing is fairly lightweight from an old skool 6 of the best point of view, and given that these are big lads and this is non-PC Thailand, it doesn't apall me that much.

Defender, for your information, I was schooled at a prestigious government school in South Africa. In those days, caning was the norm, but it was performed under strict rules. In general, students were sent to either the Principal, or 2 Vice-Principals for discipline within the confines of their rooms.Originally Posted by defender
The only 'open canings' were performed in the classroom, in the presence of other students, specifically to do with the term 'effort mark allocation'. This was performed by the Headmaster - an ex war hero - ironically tortured by the Japanese during WWII.
After a caning, we were expected to mutter 'Thank you, Sir', to show no hard feelings & as a sign of respect for authority. If not, we were given another caning.
Matters were all conducted in a very civilised manner, according to strict legal guidelines.
This barbarian in the video is breaking all the rules. Caning is *not* a game, it is a discipline. The 'animal' in the movie is engaging in beating, not dicipline - judged by attitude, obvious pleasure, & the height from which he wields the cane. The cane is also bent & very, very long causing excessive wrap-around & bruising. It would have been outlawed in SA.
If you consider the Thai way to be acceptable, then it is clear why most civilised countries have now outlawed such practices.
I was reminded of the bridge over the River Kwai, whilst watching that video. Thai-Japanese barbarism.
diaw...
thai kids get smacked in thai schools...
next!
"...ever wonder why they kill the weak ones, baby?"
Much as you'd like them to I'm sure, your personal experiences in South Aftica have very little in common with the situation in a present day Thai school. The only 'open canings' were performed in the classroom, in the presence of other students, specifically to do with the term 'effort mark allocation'. What would the *norm* be for a prestigious Government School in the UK?
Who gives a shit - this is Thailand! Are you trying to say "because it doesn't happen in the UK - then it's wrong!"![]()

We know it's not right, I was merely pointing out that it is not taken as seriously by the kids as you would like to think it is - get over it, the kids have![]()
you beat your dog, or have done in the past haven't you diaw?
But only with a straight stick and never more than 40 degrees on the backlift ...
... unless the dog doesn't bark appreciatively then all hell breaks loose![]()
