I've done a relatively through search and still all I can find is ECC's YL Extension to the CELTA and a shorter YL course (which may be exactly the thing I'm looking for anyway, but...). I haven't found any other TEFL course provider in Thailand that offers something specifically for Young Learners out there anywhere. I'd be interested in doing something like this, as I kinda like teaching the younger kids.![]()
I'd think it be great for my resume, to say nothing of my ability to teach.
Anybody know of a YL course out there that I'm missing? Or maybe there's a TEFL course that dedicates a gigantic amount of time to TYL? Anyhoo...I would think there'd be some demand for this kind of thing, and therefore some supply....
So where dey at, yo?

I suspect that most of the non-CELTA providers will say that young learners' material is interspersed throughout the course.

Matt,
I think a lot of the other courses include young learner stuff in them, thus there's no real point of doing an add on.
As the CELTA doesn't cover kids it means it's worth them offering an add on.
Riddle me this brother can you handle it

Problem is Kenny boy there appears to be nobody doing any og the PELTA courses here.
What about your gaff?
I wanted to sign up for the CELTA one at ECC in October but I don't think it's gonna happen and they keep changing the theoretical date as well.
I could swear there'd be a market for a bonafied Young Learners TEFL because it's a completely different thing and there are lots of us teaching kids and preferring to teach kids (well, most of the time)...
I think teaching Young Learners need a course all it's own. Or maybe I'm just slow. It's true that CELTA doesn't really cover kids at all. I do plan on doing the YL extension whenever I get a chance. I'll even do something online. I just want to do something!...
PS- KEN you're PM box is full...PMs can't be sent to you now.
What's a PELTA?
My kid is too young to teach mate at my gaff!
Yeah Matt I'm hoping King Louis will make the boxes bigger!!!![]()

Luvs ya!!!
So I guess that's it then.
Thanks for trying, fellas.
No Young Learners courses outside the CELTA ones,
which tend not to happen with any regularity around here.
Swell.
Even ILA in Vietman only has the regular CELTA.
Should I start one myself someday? Yes, I should.

Last chance to dance....
Any ideas?
British Council in KL is running the CELTYL course at the end of the year. It's a two-week deal, expect it'll cost a fair bit. Singapore BC is also running the same course but part-time over ten weeks. I've got a feeling that the Singapore course is for BC teachers only.
Maybe this is off topic, but it reminds me of my desires over the last couple of years to get a refresher course (you know, to apply the credits toward the 15 credits/thingies/whatzis/widgets that the MoE had already mandated but nobody could ever quite...). A one or two week refresher course, in one TEFL subject or another, held during the long breaks, might be profitable. Apparently not.
