TEFL Course Threads **PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING THEM!**

OUR STATED POLICY ON TEFL COURSE PROVIDERS AND THREADS THEREOF.

As Ajarn Forum and Ajarn.com carry quite a number of advertisements for TEFL Course providers between them, it is only natural that a recurring thread topic concerns choosing and commenting on these courses.

We have no problem with having these threads per se, but given a history of the degeneration of these threads into, frankly, embarrassing flamewars, it has been decided to lay down some hard and fast rules concerning the conduct of posters on this kind of thread.

Representatives of course providers should under no circumstances pass comment on their competitors.

Threads which set out to complain about TEFL courses should be as constructive as possible both in terms of the OP and follow-up posts. We would urge course provider representatives to comment on any issue brought up on their own courses.

Comparison threads should be similarly constructive. As far as possible former students should answer these kind of enquiries and should not be seen as a blatant sales opportunity, unless an enquiry is made on a specific course, in which case course provider reps should comment on their course only.

If it is believed that thread starters are not genuine enquiries, or that a thread is heading for a flamewar, that thread will be locked if some semblance of an answer to a genuine enquiry has been given and flame posts deleted. Otherwise the whole thread will be zapped.

We recognise the genuine need for accurate and up to date information given the vast range of courses in Thailand now, and we cannot provide this if a minority of posters constantly turn reasonable threads into mindless bickering.

As ever, any poster with a complaint about the contents of any thread should report that thread to the moderators using the report post button.

The forum management remains neutral on the subject of preference towards courses and will never offer an opinion as to which they believe is better.

Any poster with a complaint about the contents of any thread should report that thread to the moderators using the report post button, as usual.

Thankyou to all for your co-operation.

I like ajarn.com. It is a fun place. I was going to get out my list of great grievances, grandiose gripes, grand groans, grave grumbles and my granduer of grating grim grisly grime, but I won't, because I can't stop growing with the gruesome gritty grubby and grotesque grin.
