Degrees have changed a lot in 20 years. I grad 1991 when poly were polys and about 15% of any age group went to Uni. Now its nearer 40%. It wasnt that long ago (20 years) when it was less than 10%. In the old days a degree was a degree. Now Thames Valley Uni sets A-level papres from the 80's as third year uni questions! Eveyone now knows a Thames Valley degree is far inferior to most unis or even HND's/HNC's. So when Thailand demands a degree it isnt asking that much really. 20 years ago it was a lot. now not muchOriginally Posted by peelieorion

Get a Uni gig.Is it possible to work in Korea and avoid the 30 hour a week hogwans?
$2-3,000 a month, 9-20 hours per week, 2 weeks to 5 months vacaction per year.
As it was when I was living there, not much. Also, is there anything you still miss about Thailand?
Being with my family, seeing some friends from there, and walking the lake in Khon Kaen, perhaps.
[I also liked riding my motorcycle around the back areas...and popping out to the market with my wife occasionally, as well].
But, in general, I prefer to work in Korea and vacation in Thailand.

A tad homophobic I think....First of all Oscar Wilde got his ass in jail for getting his shit pushed in.

I'm not a guest here, I'm a skilled worker that is providing a service that many Thais can't do.
You set your own worth, if you think you can get more than 35,000 per month or whatever then hold out for it. If you can't get more money or a more fulfilling job then find out what you need to do to enable you to do so. If you don't make the money you seem to think you deserve it's your own fault.
Unfortunately many people do value money because no matter how you wrap it up, money talks, money is not the be all and end all of life but most people would rather be rich and happy than poor and happy and remember the world does not owe you a living.

Perhaps, but I reckon it at least owes me a beer.....Originally Posted by haltest

For a second there, I thought you had written "at the market." Funny how those pesky preps change things.Originally Posted by IsaanAlex

Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.
