indeed. but you hit the nail on the head. it's a worldwide thing.

but i's glaringly obvious in thailand. not so in other places. but that just means it's deeper and more entrenched.

"so please show no pity as we come up from the ground, and please remember as you kill us and cut us down that time will not wash clean the bloody face of history, and someone will breathe here again and they will hate you for what you leave." m.g.

Shits might get to the top in all cultures but at least in the West they have to perform and deliver an output. Here they don't. Principals might come from well to do families but what do they know about education. Most of them very little because their are little or no checks from government, no hassles from parents, why should they have any knowledge. In the West if you can't do the job it doesn't matter how important daddy is, you'll eventually be out on your arse.

This is some funny shit. "Deliver an output?" What the hell? I hope you don't really believe this.

You better go back and review the Peter Principle theory as it applies to Western business.

    LOL

True. The head mistress I knew at a big school here came from the carpet trade into education.

At least back home you know the head teacher has an education in the area.

Wow, sounds like you should seriously consider a career or location change. Life is too short to be so unhappy.

    Cheers

I hear you my old beauty but I'm sure you'd be the first to agree that the day over 2000 Brits are executed by the authorities without trial, scores of Brits university students can be massacred like at Thammasat or that 80 Brits can be suffocated on army trucks with no serious repercusions for those involved is a day that's never going to happen.

One of my old army mates Stevo is now in the police driving around in an armed response vehicle.

I can almost imagine the conversation.

INSPECTOR: Right lads. The boys at the top have delared a war on drugs and we're the hammer to crack the nut. Here's a list. Load up you Glocks and HKs and go and waste the fuckers. Don't worry about evidence, don't worry about a trial and if a few innocents get done by mistake then tough shit. We'll soon blame it on somebody else.

STEVO: Excuse me Sir. Are you fucking mad?

And if any of the conspiracy theorists / prison planet / sons of Kerux lads are reading this and come back with stuff like "Well in police state Britain it could happen you naive fool" then with all due respect they're talking a load of fucking shit.
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no Interior Minister of Thailand's son.

It took us 600 generations just to get out of the cave

Nothing much happened until 90 generations ago When for the first time we could leave a message of wisdom for the next generation in the form of writing.

Then not much happened until about 6 generations ago with the invention of the printing press. ( We didn't have to rely on the priest class to give us knowledge)

One generation ago for the first time man used an electric motor.

Look what we have seen since then ..................

We'll have to agree to disagree here re_fuse mate.
We live in a century where all information is available to all at the touch of a button. Sadly my opinion is the gang at the top here don't want change. They can have all the elections and talks of democracy they want. It means fuck all. It's a case of "Keep the peasants in their place tugging their forelocks and a bit scared of us and by the way I'll have my new Benz S-Class in black please."

Let's use this as an analogy. In the 1800's the first car was built. Nowadays every car manufacturer builds a vehicle to a general standard of the 21st century. Thailand builds those Thairung SUVs. It's not as if they're churning out horse drawn carriages with 3 horsepower under the bonnet is it? The PM in LOS who was the purported reason for the military coup owned a bloody satellite communication and telecom company while still ordering his minions to assasinate people without trial. I guess he embraced the aspects of development that he wanted didn't he.
