Thread: Three weeks of hard work for nothing - re TEFL Watch

On the closed thread concerning the closure of TEFL Watch .. I stated that I would resurrect the site under the name of Thai EFL Watch

Well I have worked my guts out over the last 3 weeks doing just that.I finally finished the site yesterday .. the same day That I received an email from TEFL Watch telling me they have tossed their database to a new owner! .. what a slap in the face!

Never mind .. the new owners site just appears to be an off the shelf script with the old TEFL Watch database dropped into it. No real effort has gone into the site .. which leads me to think that trend will continue into the future.

If you compare it with my new site "Thai EFL Watch" http://thaieflwatch.rahost.org .. I think you will see the amount of effort that's been put into it.

The main difference with "Thai EFL Watch" is that i'ts attempting to be more fair and balanced.. whereas the old TEFL Watch was mostly orientated to the negative...so at "Thai EFL Watch we also have the "Hall of Fame" for "good"schools.

So I'm just asking you to visit and check it out .. remember it's brand spanking new .. so a little empty just now ..I hope I can have your support.

Hmmm .. I logged myself out as Admin .. went to the Forums .. and all is working OK. Then I went down to the internet Cafe across the road and tried from there as an unsigned guest .. again no problems ... must have been a temporary glitch.

As it's a new site .. I imagine there will be a few bugs to be ironed out and minor changes made to the layout and content over time.

Great looking site! Waiting for my confirmation email now!

Good luck and hopefully with a more positive atmosphere more people will be wanting to contribute to the site.

Got to admit I found the site interesting...teaching tips, gambling tips and ringtones masterfully blended into one blog site. What more could a teacher ask for?
