I say that because an idiot would surmise from the other thread that I was boasting about having a fight when I was clearly not boasting about having a fight......Your opinion , It sucks I know , you have a right to have it ,as wrong as it maybe.

As for the car shit ...It was a complete joke and pun on the thread title

Ie; Burnout = to Squeal the wheels whilst making smoke ....To burn rubber.

Get a sense of humour and have a nice day

    Re: End of year burnout...

AgingOne and Russell...thanks for the encouragement. Feeling a bit better today...guess because we are getting closer to the weekend.

I guess it's not only getting burned out from teaching...but burned out from seeing the people I work with. There is only one other person in my department who is down-to-earth...the rest are full on dicks. An example, sent my supervisor an email asking for a quick meeting so that everyone is clear on the upcoming exam schedule. Her reply was very cold. I teach grade three...this was her reply. "A meeting why? Grades one, two, four, five and six know what is happening. Did I forget to mention something?" I know for a fact that the grade four teacher isn't exactly sure what is happening, as he is a new teacher. I read her reply as saying that I must be stupid because everyone else knows what is happening. My query was innocent and not at all confrontational. I replied with a nice one of my own...short a sweet..."Nevermind!" Would that be considered a harsh reply to her email? I hope not...but then again...you have to understand that this woman is a complete asshole...and I get along with most people I meet...this woman I just can't seem to make any headway. My strategy now is to stay clear of her and talk to her only if it is absolutely necessary. Good idea?

Anyway...yeah...end of year burnout sucks...just have to keep my head above the water for a few more weeks...I can do it though!!!!! Coming to Thailand on my holiday...so at least I have something good to look forward to...

    ^^

    Sweet and sour.

Putting up with a crap day-to-day life will make your holiday in Thailand so much more enjoyable.
You know what really chaps my ass though?

I spent my life savings turning my van into a dog.
The alarm alone cost me two hundred.

I get my exams out of the way two weeks early and spend the last 2 weeks making a load of fun stuff, pop up books, board games, top trump cards, wow books, fun stuff. the kids work on these over a couple of weeks and finish with a bang. Its fun going off the curriculum and worth investing some of your cash to produce cool things. Makes the last 2 weeks go quickly.

its only when you do the Year 2 SATS, you realise how poor the level is in thailand. I reckon 80% of thai nglish techers would struggle to get a level 3 on the K.S.1 tests back home.

Always a few of those around.

You're best to work around her, if that's possible.
If she's in your face don't be afraid to be confrontational.
if all else fails and the environment gets real bad, start checking out other locations.

In any case give it time. Always ask yourself, "What's the worst that can happen?"

The kids have done really well so far. 12 2As out of 16 for the Reading Comp. I think 4/5 will be fit to attempt level 3. Still have to finish the shorter writing task and the spelling. Finished marking the numeracy today and had 1 2C, 2 2Bs, and 12 2As, again I'll put 4/5 in for level 3 -delighted for them, it's been a LOOONNNNGGGGGGG year.

    Re: End of year burnout...

Yeah, my supervisor (if I can call her that) sent a reply to my message of "Nevermind!" This time she answered my questions in full. I guess all it took was to show her that I am not going to accept someone being an arsehole to me...She is a horrible woman...she says that she is a very religious person...X nun...but she is a devil...I hope she burns in hell! Well, that would bring bad karma...so I hope she gets replaced and isn't working with me next year!!!
