I just got a call from my ‘agency’ about some required TCT course. They are located in some god remote area of Bangkok. They said that I will need to pay them 15,000 THB to the director for the course. Now what is the average price of this course or the lowest? I seen the test outline online and it is pretty much a joke compared to most standards.
Which places have the lowest prices, compared to the price that the ‘agency’ is trying to get out each teacher?
How long is the course?
If it is a 20-Hour Thai Culture Course then you should pay between 4,000 and 8,000.

They are demanding 15,000 thb to be deducted out of your pay for one month. They said it was in the contract when we signed it, but I never did see it, in fact they kept the contract.

2 choices as far as I see it. demand to see the contract, stall for time until people who have taken the course get their results and change you agency. option 2 is just to walk, wave the white flag and find a new job.

Yea chuck, that's highway robbery pure and simple.
There is an option out there that several folks I've talked to have opted for and that basically involves paying 500 baht to the TCT in Bangkok. With this you are issued a rwo year exemption. I figure after two years who the hell knows, so why not take the exemption.
Some on the forum have already gone that route but whether it would have to be initiated by your employer or whether you could do it directly, that I don't know.
It's worth checking out. Good luck. Bad situation.

After speaking to the director again yesterday. I told her that the school had signed a contract with me personally and that they will not sign a contact with her agency, do to the problems they have had.chuck

There were many people at the agencies get together at some hotel near Nana plaza a few weeks ago, seems they have resorted to renting out a hotel and using their space due to the distance of their office.
The woman / Director printed it out and said here, read and sign. I asked her for a copy and she said you will get it later. I asked her when, and not reply. She then handed out another form for all those who use her agency to change banks and set up an account at K Bank.
Basically, the school I am at now, has pointed out the lack of professionalism that this agency has been performing.

Calm down newbie. Many times a new person on the forum thinks they've got an all-fired important question. And it is...but it has probably been answered several times. Old timers (I'm one of them) have a tendency to lose our patience when someone doesn't do a search on the forum for their answer prior to asking the question.
Don't take it personally. We don't mind helping. Actually, many of us enjoy it. We got help when we first got here and are happy to pass that sense of helping out on to others. We just don't want to answer the same questions over and over and over ad nauseum.
And chuck_s...for future reference, take the advice of some of the oldhands here...never ever sign a contract that you don't have a copy of yourself. Never.
Just search and link them then....probably takes around the same effort as calling them a troll....to be fair
