    Teaching Supply store in Bangkok?

Looking for a decent store in Bangers for teaching aides. Things targeted towards elementary students. Anyone have any suggestions of decent places to check out?

The only real education shop I'm aware of is next to the Ekamai Bus Station on Sukhomvit. It stocks lots of science, maths, music, art and crafts and general books. It's very Thai, so be prepared for unorganised madness!

Also one on Lat Phrao Road, I think it's opposite Soi 64 - I'll confirm later.

Later! If you come down Lat Phrao Road towards Bang Kapi, there are traffic lights about 800m past Chok Chai IV (Lat Phrao 64 is on your right). About 100 m past those lights, Suksaphand Panit is on your left.

There is one down near Khao San on Rachadamnoen Rd. as well. I think this is the largest one in Thailand. I've heard of a large one the supplies the stuff for the International Schools located somewhere either on Sukhumvit or Petchburi roads, but I've not been able to get the precise location.

There's a Bangkok based company opened in Nongkhai at great expense. Problem is they think people will pay Bangkok prices up here. everything is at least 20% more. They've employed about 50 staff all of who fussed over me as i bought a dictionary. it will close within 2 months is my guess and the pompous bangkok manager can lose his face and return home.

The largest chain of teaching supply stores in Thailand is named "Serksah pun". (ศึกสาพัน) It's owned and operated by The Teacher's Council. Just ask any Thai teacher you know where the nearest one is. They have anything I've ever needed, or if they don't, they can tell me where to get it!

If you're after teaching aids ie flashcards, visual aids, educational games etc good luck. In 3 years I've found virtually nothing anywhere in this country. Thai education doesn't believe in learning by doing. If you're after the raw materials ie glue, futureboards, colored paper etc, there are loads of stores that too these. it pays to shop around for the bargains. I use at least 4 such shops and they give me a whole loads of discounts. every teacher up in nongkhai does the same which explains why the new Bangkok based supply job is doing so badly.

I would go to a Kinokuniya bookstore (Siam Paragon is largest and best branch in TH). Map will be dual language (English/Thai), but high quality.

I am not aware of any map/globe stores in Bangkok. I have visited shops like that in US, that focus solely on that market. If someone knows about these, please let us know.
