not in Britain it ain't. I tried to get a verification on one of our teachers degree (for the school) and was told by the uni in the UK no chance without the written authority of the individual.
they refused so the school could not check if it was real.

How would this help? Just because he was 'my' judge, does not mean that he will be trying similar cases. The Criminal Court is not just one court; I was on the 4th floor of the central building, there were about 10 courts on half of that floor.

If I lied to them, I would have been in more trouble! Did they contact the university? I don't know. I believe that the police raid KSR and have copies of degrees so all they have to do is to check signatures on the degrees. There are many universities but the degree sellers only use a few signatures so how can 'Joe Soap' sign degrees for Podunk University, University of Wagga Wagga & Misomer St Dawes in the same year?

The writing has been on the wall for some time regarding fake documents. The Thais just haven't been enacting laws they laid down back in 2003 governing work permits and teacher's licenses. Thai bureaucracy moves slowly but they are thorough. Those with fake degrees should consider enrolling for real degrees so they can prove good intentions when the hammer falls.

I'm pretty sure that the student has to give written permission before their records can be released from a Uni.

It might well be a good idea if the opening comments from Hippo concerning the checking of fake degrees were pinned as a warning to the K.S.R. University graduates.
