Or more accurately, anyone who has EVER worked with a fake degree, and especially in the last 7 or 8 years. Maybe longer ...
And congrats/well done/lucky for you, Hippo. I am pleased your ordeal is over (hopefully).
I think there's a helluva lot of people who spend an extended time behind (or in front of) Thai bars, especially in Cowboy, Nana, Patpong and Pattaya ...
Of course it wouldn't, you Ozzie dork! FFS! Jeez!![]()
Judges reserve cases to themselves all the time. Everywhere, every country.
And NO-ONE Thai gets embarrassed about what passes for Thai 'justice'. Just remember that drunken twat son of someone important who mowed down umpteen people in a bus queue a while back. He got off, and I am sure because his dad's wallet was big enough to ensure he did.

We would rather be ruined than changed
We would rather die in our dread
Than climb the Cross of the moment
And see our illusions die
Wow, checks and balances in Thailand. I guess they call up our universities to check for sure. :-D And a suspended sentence. luck you. Just keep in mind that 1 little wrong move will activate your suspended sentence.
You don't have the luxury of time, you've got to say what's on your mind.
I think he's out on bail until all the appeals have been exhausted.
Odi et amo. Quare id faciam, fortasse requiris? Nescio, sed fieri sentio et excrucior.
I think a foreign teacher without a degree is still far better than some of the Thai "teachers" I have seen...
Agree with this, Hippo and I have had a couple of run ins on this forum, but I respect him, his contribution to the students of Thailand and his loyalty to this country..
Thailand has changed over the past few years regarding Farang teachers, but to go for Hippo now that he is out of the picture regarding teaching seems a little sad.
He must have been respected by the institution/s he worked for, or he would have had a worse result I think. Hippo thanks for sharing and I wish you well in the future.
Whatever the outcome, this has changed my plans. Thailand is doing everything it can to allow us the sole right of dropping all our money there, and then going home. This is yet another sypmptom. And for me, it's just one of many 'last straws'.
Thailand has every right to throw the baby out with the bathwater if it wants to and I sincerely wish it well. If it seems to me that Thailand is self-desctructive, then it's not alone. Many great states have made long strings of bad decisions (IMHO) and Thailand has that right as well.
After reading Hippo's posts, he's far more llingual than many many folks with advanced degrees. The poor sentence structure and bone-headed mispellings are everywhere. And I mean using 'there' instead of 'they're'.
This OP would be an asset to students in any country.
Long live the King.

Hell, for being an honest person with more personal experience then most Thai or farang. I would hire him, he is just to honest.

Errr ... if you don't want to answer the simple question I asked (i.e was the degree from KSR of a life experience one?) then fair enough. It's not that important.
As for your question above .. like I said earlier .. the answer would be "KSR". That's how you would Quote.."abreviate copying someone elses degree from KSR and adding your own name ? " .. end quote.
Thanks anyway. (I think?)
The goal is quite admirable, to upgrade standards. People with fake degrees are taking a chance in any country. As has been discussed before, non-degree holders should be allowed to teach under a different certification, language instructors and such. Often times, the schools are behind the frauds as they don't want it known that there are non-degreed teachers teaching the children.

I have never understood the need for a degree to be an English teacher.
A teaching qualification, yes, most definately, but a degree?
How can a degree in a subject like mechanical engineering or flower arranging possibly make you a good English teacher. Ridiculous!!
I'm not saying what Mr Hippo did was right, but the law is an ass!
For those who have done the effort of higher learning it is a suposition that is not so ridiculous as it seems for the uninitiated.
for further information see the new revised "Blooms Taxonomy"
there are those who do a great job of teaching English without higher learning who use advanced pedadogical methods instinctively .... But they would be the exception.
Finaly if my kids were being taught by a KSR er and they were not up to the task I would give the school an ultimatium.
I suppose commumity expectations are very similar around this rock we are stuck on.
