Now a Little (Bad) News from that Historic 3 Letter School on Rajdamri

the telephone wires r burning today with the news that that once dominant english language center on rajdamri, u know the one next to the back side of the american embassy and built by the CIA, i mean the USIA, in the early 1960s, FIRED more than 20 teachers yesterday, including it's best and it's brightest .

business sucked and with the reds sleeping right out front when they're not launching grenades, the school just couldn't get the doors open this term (yet anyway)

    kinda' sad in a way

This would be AUA then....I think we can relax the naming rules in this case.

There could be a clue in there somewhere.

Nah, joking aside, that's very unfortunate.
There are few problems in life that cannot be solved with toast.

One of them, however, is opening a can of corned beef with that stupid key. This cannot easily be done at the best of times, and toast is of surprisingly little use in resolving the issue.

Just goes to show how easy it is for teachers to find themselves out of a job through no fault of their own

This sucks. My wife recently tested into the AEP (Academic English Program) there - only offered at the Raj branch - and was to start up on June 1st. Doesn't look like that's going to happen now. The head of the branch near us and my former employer offered to put it on there but the downtown snobs couldn't imagine their students hopping a bus or a boat to the Ram "outskirts" (wouldn't be so hard would it? Plus, for us it'd be perfect). Fucked we are. Nothing else quite like it really...I like the notion of the Reds but their tactics are lacking. Now they've fucked with my life directly, so that results in a loss of sympathy.

I think a lot of night life owners will be with you Mathew. Sorry for your pain. Much more of this and I suspect a lot of jobs will be lost as well as any remaining sympathy for the reds (maybe that's why they are dropping their colours)

Storming the hospital didn't help matters either. Brilliant plan. Wonderful people taking the high road for democracy, fucking with sick people.

Of course I see the point of these protests, but Christ, the means aren't exactly inspiring great confidence in the ends.

i don't like the yellow or the red team.

my preference would be for a pink team.

^ That would only work as a joke if there wasn't a pink team.

So, the 20 teachers that were layed-off were only layed-off at the Rajdamri branch, eh?

I assume, if the protests due end, hopefully some or most of the layed-off teachers can get their jobs back. ?

Also, is AUA slow now? In BKK? Elsehwere?

Yeah! I caught that, too! What we do know is that the Thais should put up a team for 20/20 cricket as their spin is phenomenal
