A private student, absolute beginner - some questions

I haven't done a lot of teaching in Thailand yet, some here but mostly in other countries. In my apartment building a guy from Europe asked me if I could work with his fiance as she is almost a total beginner and he said it would be tiring for him to teach her. Mentioned a couple hours a day twice a week.

Question, what would be a good rate per hour? I've read you should ask for one month advance, but for the first couple weeks better to go week-by-week? I also understand that one-to-one teaching is more work.

Is two hours per session too long? Better to shorten to 90 mins or even only 1 hour?

Anyone have any suggested materials, or perhaps any other advice?

Charge however much you would be happy getting. As for teaching hours, ask the European how long his fiance would prefer lessons to be.

Side by Side is not bad, especially for really low beginners. Can be dull so supplement it with other stuff.
