With it's generous 700 baht p/h wages, and it's 3 hour classes, Go International was one of those language schools that anyone who had the slightest splash of competence about them worked at at some stage or another. In its early days there were a few teachers doing 9 hours per day there on Saturdays and Sundays, then taking the rest of the week off, and getting by on a pleasant 32,000 baht p/m - not bad for 2 days works a week, when you compare with the 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday to Friday government school jobs that pay the same.
I got an email through from them today saying that they were closing their doors (to be replaced by something called "Go Global") and inviting all past and present teachers to a party on Sukhumvit Soi 8 - not Lolitas by-the-by; details can be found on Facebook.
Nuts In A Blender
Don't know - haven't worked there for years. Working at Go was a bit of a rite of passage for TEFL teachers in Bangkok at one stage.
Yes, I remember it. Just a bit surprised that it would give up on a lucrative market, but perhaps that's a sign of the times.
Does anyone know if Go Global will still be a part of Chula Fac. of Continuing Education, or not?
Still based in Siam Square?
I heard they are going to do more adult stuff, including EAP.
Still based in Siam Square, in the same location, but not part of Chula CEC.
