Comparing teaching in Siam vs. Vietnam etc

I have five years teaching under my belt in Saigon, Phnom Penh and Sapporo. Anyone with experience in East Asia, especially Taiwan, care to list the pros and cons?

    IMHO...

Japan- difficult to go solo, good pay

Cambodia - huge cheating problem, inexpensive cost of living

Vietnam - ruthless schools, vegetarian food

Can you give more detail on why Vietnam has ruthless schools please?

I'm thinking of teaching in Da Nang because I've got a close group of friends over there and the lifestyle is good. I'm confused by this "ruthless" statement, the impression I've gotten so far from the few teachers my friends had introduced me to were positive overall.
