    How many students are in the Formal School System of Thailand?

    Below are the statistics of the number of students in the Formal School System of Thailand divided in levels.


    • Pre-elementary Education (Anuban 1-3 (1,2)): 1,780,074
    • Primary/ Elementary Education (Prathom 1-6): 5,138,475
    • Lower Secondary Education (Matthayom 1-3): 2,792,286
    • Upper Secondary Education (Matthayom 4-6): 2,003,534
    • Undergraduate Degree and below: 2,093,545
    • Graduate Degree: 190,414

    Stamp, I never opened this because I thought you were asking a question I didn't know the answer to.

    So it seems that most students that make continue on to M4 go ahead and attend university. I suppose that figure includes any type of post secondary schooling such as the technical colleges.

    There are/was 5,138,475 in P1-P6, but only 4,795,820 in M1-M6.
    That's 342,655 less students.
    I can only assume that is the dropouts of those leaving after M3.

    I think so, noelbino. If I recall well, compulsory education in Thailand goes until M3.

    Why didn't you use the complete statistics in your first post and why are you quoting 3 year old data....I guess I don't see the point. Could you clarify what you're trying to point out?
