Of course, I am. I was implying that it would be interesting to be a white boy in a black man's land (so used to the other way around). It seems that it would be a bold move, yet a life - changing experience.Originally Posted by Matthew

When are you off to India?
Let us know how you get on, as India is interesting to me too.
NB traveler2 sent me a good PM about working for MicroSoft in India. PM him and I'm sure he'll be happy to share it with you.
1. 5 places or things not to be missed?
Amritsar (the Golden temple), Veranasi(Although I didn't make it there), Johdpur, Mcleod Ganj, Pavarti Valley (to name a few)
2. anything or place you'd recommend missing?
The Taj Mahal is overrated and Agra sux, I liked Jaiphur but many people can't deal with the people there, Rishikesh is annoyingly touristy, I didn't like New Delhi.
3. how are the visas these days? for a brit and a thai? strict? lenient?
No worries mate, I'm an American and had no troubles eventhough everyone hates us![]()
4. what about working/staying long-time? what's the dilly-o on this?
That shouldn't be too hard but there ain't much money to be made.
by the way, don't expect to see everything, India is too damn big. Pick a few places to chill out and understand that there's simply too much to see in one trip unless you have unlimited time and money.
Namaste
can't wait to read some replies!

I'm surrounded by India located in Bangladesh at the moment all depending on how much or how long I can take it here. I wouldn't come here unless your used to mayhem or controlled madness. There are hundreds of places of education here for higher education, it seems that all Bangladesh's do is study. I went for an afternoon out last friday, ventured into the next town where there were more educational institutes than people. It's strange how i've only come across my job on webboards, forums or education sites, seems like they don't advertise much for foreign teachers. the culture here is pretty mixed with muslim, christian and islam been the obvious. I think your idea of India is much better for travel but working here in bangladesh may pay better if you fancy a chnage from India of course.
I read the other day that Bangladesh lies on a huge fault line which has caused several tremors this year. The article mentioned a huge earthquake is due here which makes me wonder more about how long i'll stay, so bare that in mind when your traveling here. another problem is the common frequency of floods here often life threatening, once again it makes me wonder how long i'll stay. The foods excellent and the service is polite with lot's sirs. madams and Mr's throwm in with christian names.
