The River Kwai Hotel fits the bill, should be somewhere at the lower end of that price range. It's about the nicest of the standard hotels in Kanchanaburi, I recommend it for a dirty weekend.1000- 2000 baht is cool

Rooms aren't bad, Western breakfast is good, it's on the main road that you come into Kanchanaburi on, nowhere near the river.

That would be the Paradise. They sometimes employ eastern Europeans, but try the VIP for about 1,800 baht all in. If you want to watch the game, try the bar directly across the road and ask for Don, the owner.
