Inspired by our respected member Zehner (http://www.ajarnforum.net/vb/the-tra...et-and-kl.html (Ko Lanta, Samet and KL)), we wanted to spent our holiday in the south. On the 5th October, 05.00 h we took the pick-up (including motorcycle) and drove to Koh Lanta in Krabi province. We arrived at 13:00 h (730 km). Koh Lanta is a very quiet island. Islam is the main religion. It means that you will not find pork or beer in many Thai restaurants. But.......supermarkets and 7-11s enough that sell beer.
It was low season at Koh Lanta. Quiet, quiet and ....... quiet. No boat trips to Koh Phi Phi or Big Game Fishing yet.
Our bungalow at Koh Lanta Riviera Resort (on the map below you can see the location on the island). The only bungalow with two terraces and a direct view to the sea. We stayed here for nine nights and agreed to pay 400 THB per night. This bungalow does 2,200 THB in December (high season):

We drove with our motorcycle around the island. Some pictures:
We did a kayak tour along the mangrove forest.
My sister-in-law, her husband, the tour guide and the two kids.
Inhabitants of the mangrove forest:
We took a boat trip to four islands for snorkeling and swimming. The white line on the google map shows the course (the white line on the island was one of our motorcycle trips).
It was very nice that on the way to the islands the course was along the east side and on the way back along the west side of Koh Lanta.

This was a very exciting spot. Morakot Cave. You had to swim through a cave to come in a hole in the mountain with a small beach.
After nine nights at Koh Lanta we drove to Ao Nang. We stayed at Ao Nang for three nights.
We did a hundred fifty kilometres trip by motorcycle. Some pictures:

Our last day we took a day trip by boat to Koh Phi Phi Don.
